Zef Bushati
Great Actor of the “Teatri Popullor” (today TK) / Actor of Albanian Cinematography, Director, Pedagogue in ILA and Politician!
He was born in Tirana on October 11, 1953. Bushati graduated as an actor and director at the High Institute of Arts in 1975, and in December of this year he started working as an actor at the “Teatri Popullor”. From the beginning, he was entrusted with roles in this stage of the theater, although small roles and as doubles. We can mention here anyway, the drama “The Fisherman’s Family”; “Lady from the City”; “Arturo Ui”; “Year 61” etc.
He has interpreted many roles in the epic-heroic plan, but also those with psychological aspects. His career in the Theater for a period of 20 years includes about 47 different roles and among them also protagonists from which the role of Mic Sokoli in “Besa e madhe” can be distinguished; Kabash Caushit in “The dawning of the year 45"; Ferdinand to "Luiza Miller"; Luigj Gurakuqi "Flag`
s Road”; Paris “Romeo and Juliet”; The consul in “The Era before the trial”, Stanishi in “Who brought Doruntina” which is actually his last role in the National Theatre.
And in the Theater he also tried directing and not without success. Thus, in 1978, he staged “Vershime Pranverore” and then “Besa e Madhe”; “Dea’s Last Tragedy”;
In 1988, with a closer look at the time and with a group of outstanding actors such as Kadri Roshi, Violeta Manushi, Vangjush Furrxhi, Drita Pelingu, Agim Qirjaqi, Yllka Mujo, Pavlina Mani, etc., he managed to put the drama “Shadows of the Night” by V. Kokona on the stage of the “Teatri Popullor” .
In some of these shows, he is even an actor alongside as the director. On the movie screen, he performed in: “War Paths” in the role of an Italian captain, ” Journey in Spring”, “Our Friend Tili”, “When you part with friends” and he stood out in the role of the Italian, Augusto (Agush), in the movie “Man with Cannon” ” as well as Captain Janos in the movie “Shirts with vax”. In the role of Agushi in 1977, he highlighted human values, although under a twist of inferiority, timidity and fear of war.
Zef Bushati gave lectures as a professor at the University of Fine Arts in Tirana, for 11 years, starting in 1982. His lectures in the Department of Directing and Canto were mainly about Mastery of the Actor, stage interpretation, artistic speech, diction scenic.
After 1991, he visibly engaged in politics, even making a career more successful than in performing arts. In the field of politics, he is honored with titles and decorations. Vice-President of the Republican Party, President of the Democratic Party, then in diplomacy, Ambassador of Albania to the Vatican, etc.
Upon returning to Albania in 2006, he returned to politics in the ranks of the PDK, where he held the position of Political Secretary and Foreign Relations and at the same time adviser to the Minister of Health, further the Deputy Minister of European Integration. In 2009, Minister Plenipotentiary, Deputy Ambassador to Italy. In 2011, Chairman of the Party Christian Democratic Alliance of Albania.

2002 – 2006 Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Holy See in the Vatican
2006 – 2007 Advisor to the Minister in the Ministry of Health
2007 – 2009 Deputy Minister of Integration in the Ministry of Integration
2009 – 2010 Minister Plenipotentiary in the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Italy
2011 – Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports.
