Silvana Pampanini (1925-2016) Prominent Italian actress of the 50s – 60s. Director and singer! Nini Pampan was born in Rome on September 25, 1925. A great Italian actress (perhaps the greatest) in the 50s, who dominated Italian cinematography in this period. He comes from a Venetian family that has been in the Italian capital for three generations. He graduated from the Pedagogical Institute and the Conservatory of Music in Santa Cecilia. She was still a student when she took part in a "Miss Italia" beauty contest organized in Stresa in September 1946. Although with the victory of another girl, Rosanna Martini, the protesting voices of the participants forced the organizers to give Pampanini an "ex aequo" award. Precisely this beauty contest launches her into the world of cinema. Pampanini started her career as a performer of several musical films with which she gained great popularity day by day, she appeared as a diva, with her charming appearance in the periodicals of the cinema. Her father, who was initially against his daughter becoming an actress, later quit his job and became his actress daughter's personal agent. Thus, in the mid-50s, shortly before the release of Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida, she had achieved worldwide popularity and presented to the public the symbol of Italian female beauty, together with Lucia Bose and Silvana Mangano. In the 1950s, many films with Pampanini as the protagonist were distributed all over the world. She has a long career but let's mention only some of her films like "I pompieri di Viggiù (1949) but which was released to the public in 1951; "OK Nerone", which is considered the first international success. "Quo wadis"?; "Bellezze in bicycle"; "La presidentessa" (1953); "La bella i Roma" directed by Luigi Comencini; "La strada lunga un anno" film which was nominated for "Oscar" in 1959, etc.; However, it should be mentioned that Pampanini refused the invitation to Hollywood, working in France (known as Nini Pampan); in Yugoslavia, Egypt, Spain, Argentina and even in Mexico. She has never been married, while the press reflected her association and "flirt" with several names, the Afghan prince Ahmed Shah Khan, Tyrone Power, William Holden, George DeWitt; Omar Sharif, Orson Welles, King Faruq I of Egypt, tenor Giuseppe Campora. But from her testimony, she has shown that her true and only love was for a man 10 years older than her, handsome, tall, rich, who had nothing to do with the show or the world of film and who unfortunately died a month before their planned marriage, due to a serious illness that struck him during World War II. I work with the best Italian directors and actresses of the time, from Comencini, De Santis, Matoli, Scotese, Mastrocinque, Francisi, Brignone, Soldati, Germi, Trapani, to Toto', Vittorio De Sica, Peppino De Filippo, Vittorio Gasmann, Nino Manfredi, Alberto Sordi, Amadeo Nazzari, etc. Life changes on January 6, 2016 __________________ Albanian Cinematography 2013 – 2021
