Flora Uka
Sound operator and engineer of the Albanian film at Kinostudio “Shqiperia e re”.
Born in Durres on February 20, 1950. The only daughter of an intellectual family of the time from Durres, she could not have thought that her life would be so closely connected with art when she started her studies in electrical engineering at the University of Tirana in 1968.
After finishing her studies in this branch for weak currents, from October 9, 1972, she started working in the sound department at Kinostudio “Shqiperia e re”.
Uka`s first film as a sound operator was: “They were four”, 1977.
Later she worked as a sound operator in 16 other feature films such as: Man with the Cannon, 1977 / After the Tracks, 1978 / Little partisan Velo, 1981 / Militant, 1984 / Violin Strings, 1987 / Elastic Boy, 1989 / Pirate’s Cave, 1990 / The Last Hunt, 1993 / Night, 1998 / Sako’s Wedding, 1998 etc.
She also worked as a sound operator in several cartoons:
Fox and Hedgehog (1981) / “Kecat dhe Ujku (1982) / New Omer (1983) / Champion (1989) etc.
Miss Flora Uka currently lives in the United States of America!
