Vllasova Musta
Screenwriter, poet!
Born in Gjirokaster on April 8, 1949. Graduated in Language – Literature at the Faculty of Philology, Tirana in 1971. Immediately after her studies, Musta worked at the Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re” as a screenwriter, where she started her creativity with the first script of the documentary film “Silence of Arms”, 1971 and then the script of the documentary film “Tefta Tashko Koço Sings”, directed by Marjanthi Xhako, 1972.
In 1975-1976, Vllasova Musta specialized in the two-year post-graduate course, directing branch, at Kinostudio. Vllasova created scenarios in the genres of documentary and chronicle films and, later, in the period 1982-1987, also in animated films.
For five years, she held the position of director of the “Albafilm studio”, from 1997-2002, and then worked at the National Historical Museum as a specialist in the Museology and Publications Sector (2002-2006).
Vllasova Musta’s work over the years includes other duties as a member of the Artistic Council for the approval of scripts and films at Kinostudio, 1983-1990; member of the Board at the National Cinematographic Center in 1998-2002.
She has realized over 35 scripts for animated films as well as dozens of documentaries and chronicles, where the collaborations with directors Vitori Ҫeli, Gjin Varfi and Rikarda Nova stand out:
“Near the first steps” 1974, “Heart of knowledge, heart of freedom”, 1975, “New residents on the banks of the Ionian Sea”, Vitori Ҫeli, 1976, “Wait, wait for Skanderbeg”, Vitori Ҫeli, 1983, “The Master and his students”, Adriana Elini, 1987, documentary film about actor Naim Frashëri “Meteor of stage”, 2002, documentary film about Vangjel Zhapa “The man who transcended the times”, Donika Muçi, 2004.
As a screenwriter and director, she directed the documentary film about the earthquake in the Shkodra region “The earthquake shook the mountains, united the hearts”, 1979, the documentary “Provincial Theater in Pristina”, 1979 , as well as screenwriter and director in the realization of dozens of chronicles.
In the genre of animation, Musta created scripts for the films “In the fir forest”, Tonin Vuksani, 1983, the series of cartoons “White feather bird”, “Primer and the birds of Olta”, Bujar Erebara, 1988, “After a fight”, Gjin Varfi , 1987, “Two brothers and the wolf”, Boris Ikonomi, 1987, “Mushroom”, Artur Muharremi, 1989, “Skin of a lion”, Gjin Varfi, 1989, “Together with the sunset”, Artur Dauti, 1996, “Ballad of the woodcutter”, Rikarda Nova, 1997, “The game of the devil”, Rikarda Nova, 1999, “Bridge”, Artur Muharremi, 2005, “It happened once and it continues again…”, 2007.
Vllasova Musta’s creativity has been evaluated over the years with prizes, cups, medallions both at home and abroad: The film “New Residents by the Ion”, winner at the first Albanian Film Festival. The cartoon “Two Brothers and the Wolf”, winner of the Cup of the 7th Film Festival, 1988. The cartoon “Mushroom”, winner of the Medallion of the 8th Film Festival, 1990.
The cartoon “Ballad of the Woodcutter”, winner of the Cup of the 11th Albanian Film Festival, 2000. The film “Bridge” has competed in several international events and won several awards, such as in Italy, France and Greece.
In addition to her creative work in cinematography, Vllasova also successfully studies Albanian poetry, where she stands out for her lyrical sensitivity, good knowledge of verse and master of poetry.
Musta wrote poetry from the early years of her youth and won the first prize for the best poetic cycle in the national competition for young talents (1966). The song “Red Jacket” with lyrics written by Vllasova Musta was announced as the winner of the first Soldier’s Song Festival.
In 1970, Musta published her first book of poems entitled “Without a cover”. In 1984, published the book of poems “Kur çelin sythet”, which won a prize in the national competition organized on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of liberation.
In 2006, she participated in the National Literary Competition “Dritëro Agolli” in the genre of poetry, where she was declared the winner.
In 2007,published the book of poems “Kthema diellin, tim”. And recently, in 2014, the book of poems “Tell me something beautiful” .
