“Merited Artist” / Order “Naim Frasheri” First Class,
February 17, 1938 – September 23, 2013
A symbolic video that is specially dedicated to her, one of the great ladies of Albanian acting. Today should have been the anniversary of the birth of the unforgettable actress, Antoneta Papapavli, another great loss from the golden generation of our actresses.
Due to health reasons, leg problems and occasional body pain, she was forced to stop her career in 1988. From this year on, she does not play any role. Directors are looking for her even after 1990, but she refuses because she doesn’t have the energy to cope with acting.
In 2003, hes illness worsened and she remained paralyzed at home. During this period, with full merit, she received the “Naim Frasheri” Class I order, various decorations for her contribution to the Albanian scene. After a long illness of 23 years, she passed away on September 23, 2013, leaving her image to the spectators, not only the shadow of a true aristocratic lady, but also as a worthy actress, an IMMORTAL ICON of our stage.
