It is a historical film about the life of the national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu. Gjergj Kastioti unites the Albanian princes by marrying Donika Kastrioti and organizing the Covenant of Lezha, but he also faces the betrayal of Hamza Kastrioti, his nephew.
The film has massive scenes of historical battles and the siege of Kruja. It is the first feature film, the fruit of Albanian-Soviet cooperation.
