The content of the film A young singer Donika and a pianist Eleni start a concert tour in small provincial towns passing through the villages with their piano. The two young artists meet many hosts including the common people and the local authorities who seek to appear Western but who are essentially confronted with each other.
"I didn't order a German, but a Korcharka!" And he comes to sing, with the piano, among the Myzeqes… This world is busy, but when the Korçarks are taken! However, taken, they are blessing their feet. We burst with the sound of the Oar and the voice of Leme the leash. But who will listen to Korçarka in Lushnja?
"In a few minutes watching the film, you can easily understand the three lines of its construction in the rural reality of Lushnje and Myzeqe. Monarchist state on the periphery. Albanian citizenship, patriotic and western inspired. The prevailing feudal situation and the poverty of the people's life. In fact, there is a fourth line or perspective which is still in its embryonic stage: the communist, anti-monarchist, anti-feudal and progressive movement. All four of these analytical perspectives have a clear distinction. On one side is the monarchist state with feudal power. In the other are intellectuals, professionals, artists and communists. The old society against modernizing innovation and emancipation…
One of the harshest criticisms of the film, combined with comic colors, is precisely the inability of the monarchist state to be interested in the people. Therefore, any analysis and treatment of the monarchy as a totalizing modern regime is not very accurate. The two types of governments are aligned in terms of the use of authoritarian state violence in maintaining peace. Except the preservation of public order does not necessarily mean taking care of the people in some basic standards of life and existence. The radical reforms often cited in the film, such as progressive monarchy-inspired decision-making torn between today's Turks and the Occident, appear neither as reforms nor as radical, since a radical reform cannot care for horses, to prevent and sanction the beating of the man against the horse, without previously raising the form of civilization where the society in its course, changes the sensitivity in relation to the protection of the animal or nature. The concert, as well as other films of the era, tell us about a monarchy disinterested in the problems of the people, which ignores, neglects, gets involved with the fascist conqueror and then washes its hands of the people and the nation. »
