CLASSIC WORLD CINEMA | "AN AMERICAN ON VACATION"! The film had a varied international distribution: in the United States it was shown from January 31, 1947; in Sweden from March 30, 1948; in the UK it was only distributed in 1949. In Italy it was reintroduced on 16 October 2009 as part of the Rome International Film Festival.
The film portrays a delicately sentimental meeting between an Italian teacher and an American soldier, against the backdrop of the war, which is drawing to a close.
