Theater "Bylis", Fier! The dramatic theater of this city that has staged dramas, tragedies, comedies, farces and other types of drama. It is located in a building near the city center, in the southeast. The capacity of its hall is 500 spectators. The genesis of this theater comes from the Amateur Theater Movement of this city and its surroundings, especially in the theater group of the House of Culture. It was established on March 15, 1971. Its first premiere was the drama "Hije te nates" by V. Kokones, staged by the director Leka Bungo. Very quickly he became known for the new spirit he brought, as young actresses who had graduated from the High Institute of Arts were appointed to his troupe. Already in the first steps, the realistic style and the tendency to draw characters of original characters were distinguished, as seen in the scenes of the comedies "Engagement" by Chehov and "The man who saw death with his eyes" by V. Eftimiu. The tendency to innovate expressive means and break some thematic "taboos" was confirmed with the staging of the drama "Historia e nje nate" by Kleanthi Dushe in c. 1973. Sharp social problematic, the assertion of some advanced ideas of the time, which called for more freedom, especially for a more redeemed treatment of the theme of love, the personality of women in society and the attitude towards adultery, accompanied by the originality of directorial form, evoked reactions from the party bodies and were harshly criticized as "foreign influences". After being given several times to the public, this play was removed from the repertoire and banned. During the 1970s, there were many successful plays that attracted a wide audience, such as: "Heroes of Linas" by S. Pitarke; "The house in the alley" by T. Laco; "Unforgettable years" of Sh. Myths; Tashko Lako's "sage" was heard, etc. The drama "Gjemimi i atil dimri" by T. Laco, staged in 1976 by the director Dhimiter Pecani, marks one of the highest points of this theater. The epic spirit, massive paintings, the variety of characters, the conflict given in open and harsh social-political views, the energy and dynamics, as well as a mise-en-scene built with real life, characteristic details but given in an expressive way, stood out. With this part, the theater won the Second Prize in the Festival of Professional Theaters. Until 1980, the parts: "The Explosion" and "The End of Maku Ponea's Bells" were well received by the audience; "Rising waves" authored by Tashko Lako; "Letter pumps" by N. Prifti; "Vransire e short" by T. Laco; "Song of smile" with some fragments from the creativity of D. Agolli; Another achievement of this theater was the comedy "Shoku Niqifor" by P. Kulles (1979), with which it was awarded a prize at the Festival of Professional Theaters. The show "Two Christmases in Paris" by P. Kulles and Sh. The myth, dedicated to the figure and his great work, the hero of the people, Avni Rustemi, and his three-month act. The dramatic tones, the lively dialogue between the actresses Fatos Sela, Vladimir Muzha, Dervish Biba, etc., the severity of the conflict and the tension, became the premise for the well-deserved success of the show and its duration. The 80s are the years of the most prominent achievements of this theater, when several Albanian plays were staged, such as "Ballad for a Woman" by D. Agolli; the comedy "Keshtu te dua" by P. Kulles, the other comedy "God kicks me buter" by Ilir Bezhani, etc., Of course, works by foreign authors, such as "The Witches of Salem" by Artur Miller, are also welcomed by the audience; "Who killed Castij" according to the motifs of the well-known French film Maria October. In the theater, the organic tendency towards a realistic play, often held in strong dramatic tones, was strengthened; also care for the creation of the most reliable and self-reliant characters, where the Albanian national spirit can be freely expressed. After the 90s and onwards, foreign authors who had been absent due to well-known reasons of censorship were mostly preferred on the stage of this theater. The number of actresses during these years was significantly reduced due to lack of funding as well as the departure of the artists themselves due to economic reasons, emigration, etc., the level of prepared performances dropped significantly, just like in every other theater in the country. However, one of the most impressive shows of that time was the drama "Why" (1998) authored and directed by Serafin Fanko based on the novel with the same title by Sterio Spas. Another achievement of this institution was the comedy "Sa mire beri qe mir" (2002) authored and directed by Ilir Bezhani. In this period, other plays were shown on the stage of the "Bylis" theater, such as: "Love with ghosts" (1993) by G. Schiro Di Maggio; "The gentleman who betrays his wife" by Dh. Psalms; "Njeriu njeri" (1995) by the Austrian writer Fransua Mitera; "Crime and Punishment" (1996) based on Dostoevsky's motives; "The future is in the eggs" (2000) by E. Junesko; There were also several shows with Albanian authors: "A sea of poison" (1997) by T. Laco; "Journey through anxiety" (2001) based on the motifs of the novel "General of the Dead Army" by I. Kadares; "Pusi" (2003) by A. Priest; "Kercuri" (2003) by P. Kulles; then there are the creations of Kristo Floqi "Zi e me zi"; "Brotherhood and interest"; "Sorrollopi" under the title Black and Black directed by Mehmet Xhelili, where it continues on the same road as before. The directors who worked in this theater were: Leka Bungo; Tower Pigeon; Petrit Tuna; Roland Carka. On the stage of this institution, other directors from the country's theaters, such as Serafin Fanko, have been invited to perform special roles. Gezim Kame; Dhimiter Orgocka; Mehmet Xhelili; Andonis Philip etc. In this theater, actresses became known for their talent: Fatos Sela, Hajrie Rondo, Dervish Biba, Dhimiter Jano, Vladimir Muzha, Niko Vrusho, Muhamet Sherri, Roland Roshi, Klajdi Marku, Ilir Bezhani, Fatmir Xhelili, etc. From 2002, the International Theatrical Festival of Acting "Apollon" took place on the stage of this theater with director Klajdi Marku. The troupe of the professional variety theater, as a unique troupe, consists of a total of 23 members. There are 10 theater actors, 1 director, 1 director, 1 scenographer, 4 assistant personnel.
