Limoz Dizdari
Composer, music formulator of the Albanian film
Merited artist!
Born in the village of Rusan in Delvine on February 7, 1942.
Studied at the State Conservatory in Tirana 1966. Well-known composer both for symphonic works and for the processing and composition of songs of light music based on the Albanian folk tradition. Dizdari is the winner of several awards in light music at various song festivals in RTSH.
In addition to his wide activity in the field of music, he has composed the music for about 30 Albanian films, artistic, documentary and cartoon, starting with the film “Open Horizons” in 1968.
He is distinguished by the high level of quality in film music.
“Malet me blerim mbuluar” (1971), “Rruge te bardha” (1974), “Beni ecen vete” (1975) where he was also awarded the prize for the best music, “Njeriu me top” (1976), “Koncert ne vitin`36” (1978) also honored here with an award for music, “Mesonjetorja” (1979), “Rruga e librise” (1982), “Tales from the past” (1987), “Vitet e pritjes” (1990).
Other films with the composition of maestro Dizdari are: “Conscience” (1972), “I treti” (1978), “Plumba perandori” (1980), “Gjurme ne kaltërsi” (1981), “Qortimet e veshte” (1981), “Ne prag te jetes” (1985) as well as a number of cartoons, “Fairy and Beauty” (1975), “The Incident of Cufo” (1982) etc.
He has worked for several years as a music editor near Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”. On June 20, 1997, he was elected deputy of the Socialist Party in the People’s Assembly. Limoz Dizdari was the Chairman of the League of Writers and Artists of Albania for two terms and was also a Member of the Albanian Parliament (2001-2005).
Currently lives in Ksamil (Saranda district) where he founded the “Dea” Art Center where in 2007 he organized the “Songs of the Earth” International Festival. For his artistic merits, Limos Dizdari has been awarded the title “Merited Artist”.
