Tefe Krroçi (1924-1995)
“Migjeni” Theater actor, director of Peshkopia` Estrada, playwright, publicist, author of texts for various songs.
Born in Shkoder on September 28, 1924. He headed the Jesuit college in his hometown and in September 1942 he went to Italy for higher studies. In 1948, he was appointed director of the Library of Shkodra (today Marin Barleti).
After that, he is a teacher in Leskovik and Vrake, even in Vrake the streets of this village would appear again and again the image of the portrait of the great “Migjeni” and his desperate and revolting poetic spaces. As a child and later in his youth, he was engaged in theatrical activities such as The plays: “Lundertari i mordes” (drama directed by Henrik Lacaj) was staged by “Severian College” on February 19, 1933; “Tek nipat e Pashko Tamizit” (comedy) was staged by the “Severian College” on February 22, 1935, directed by Injac Zamputin; He also performs as an actor in the comedy “Shtjefen Nafaka” directed by Injac Zamputin. Which was put on stage by the Don-Bosco Circle on May 7, 1935; “Vandea” (Don Bosco District, directed by I. Zamputi, staged on April 12, 1936); “Periza” (comedy also staged by Don Bosco Circle directed by I. Zamputi, April 13, 1936); “Shnjor Pllumbi me bark thate” (humorous play, director I. Zamputi, Don Bosco Circle, August 8, 1937) etc.
Tefe Krroci continues to perform in other roles, highlighting his talent as an actor in plays by Albanian and foreign authors: “Enemy of the people” by Ibsen, staged by Zef Zorba; “Midnight Death” translated by Andrea Skanjeti; “Portrait” of Afinogekov; “Island of peace” by JP Petrov; “The Upheaval” by B. Lavraniev (1950); “Life Begins Again” by V. Sobka (1952); “Dawn” by Kole Jakova (1952); “Our land” by Kole Jakove (1954); “Servant of two masters” by K. Goldoni (1955) “Who is to blame” by G. Midvan (1954) etc.
With the creation of the “Migjeni” Theater on November 24, 1949, Tefe Krroci is a member of the first forming nucleus, alongside Andrea Skanjeti as a director, Adem Kastrati, Vitore Ujkes (Nino), Ndreke Prela and others: Antoneta Fishta, Paulin Lacaj Cezarina Ciftja; Ndoc Deda (actor)….
In the period from 1955 to 1959, he worked as an accountant in the Shkodra hospital. Later and for nearly 20 years in a row, he will be the director of the professional variety show of Peshkopia, since its foundation, i.e. in 1959. It was also taken from the nature of the work, with creativity such as skits, monologues, dialogues, etc.
In the field of entertainment. he is also the author of many song texts. Especially in the period 1960-`1970 when Tonin Rrota was the music director, working with him in the creation of texts for which some of those songs became really popular, such as: “Jepma mollen”; “Take off the dance”; “Hey, hey, hey”; “Dibrane Rhapsody” etc… all based on Dibran folk music and motifs.
Tefa worked in Diber and left such indelible impressions that the locals called him Dibran even though he came from Shkodra. Even after he retired, he continued to work for Dibra until the day he changed his life on December 1, 1995 in Tirana.
To complete his portrait as an artist, Tefe Krroci also has a journalistic and dramaturgical literary creativity. He worked on the first and only magazine with the title “Ja liri, ja robnim” under the pseudonym Besim Stajka.
During the summer of 1944, he wrote the play “For freedom” which he failed to stage. It has been taken with translations such as Ibsen’s major plays, modern poems without forgetting those of H. Hajnea, Byron, etc.
After the 1990s, he worked as an editor of the magazine “Hylli i drites”, preparing the complete bibliography of the magazine for the period 1913-1944. Tefe Krroci also wrote poems that he collected in the manuscript “False Jewels” which were written in the period 1942 – 1972.
