“The wind of the sea
blows the roses.
In the cities Girls are telling.
The pianos stay up late,
they compose songs.
The girls listen to
Who knows what they say.”

Suzana Qatipi is a “pioneer” singer of the Albanian song who comes from a city with a reputation in culture and art, especially in the theater genre with the legendary “Skampa” the stage of hundreds of thousands of performances.

But Elbasan has a long tradition also in the genre of music, giving Albania excellent voices such names as Albert Tafani; the Zena brothers; Fatma Zyberi, Hafsa Zyberi, Zina Zdrava,; Zeliha Sina; Flutura Hida; Ylja Senja; Mustafa Mehja; Agim Saliu and many others.

Such is the singer Suzana Qatipi, with a special voice for the songs microphone. So, has anyone asked what is happening with these singers, specifically with the singer Suzana Qatipi? Where is she today? Why are names that have contributed to the Albanian music and deserve a position and respect in the field of music not mentioned and forgotten? Suzana Qatipi was born on October 12, 1956. In her hometown of Elbasan, she studied singing at the High School of Music “Onufri” and then went on to the Academy of Arts for drama and singing. Contact with the song dates back to the National Children’s Festival, which was organized in Shkoder.

Then, at the age of 14, she sang at the first Song Festival in Elbasan, “The Hero’s Song” composed by A. Ballici, with which Suzana was awarded first prize. At a young age, 16 years old, perhaps like no one else, she was a deputy at the 11th Festival, National Festival on TVSH. At this Festival she sang the song “Girls and the composer” by A. Lalos. Her name appears as a participant in about
10-12 other festivals with more success,

but also in different events of the song, such as in her hometown in Elbasan, but also nationwide. In her repertoire there is a considerable number of songs that cannot be forgotten, on the contrary, they have remained in the memory of the spectators. Suzana has sung many songs in “Music Polls”, participated in “Performers’ Festivals”, she was a singer of the “Isuf Myzyri” Elbasan Ensemble. She has also sung with the Ensemble “Aleksander Moisiu” Durres as well as with the group “We united by popular song”.

In addition to these, her activity expanded by being a participant in the variety show of the city of Elbasan.

Some time ago (2014) the Municipality of Elbasan gave Suzane the title “Prominent Artist of the City” for special achievements and contribution in the field of music.

How much “Why”!!

The endless transition that our country is going through has brought chaos everywhere and as a result it has been felt in Art, Cinematography or even in the Music we are talking about. A lack of organization has led to the “persecution” of some names that have left a mark with their voices on former spectators and cannot be easily forgotten.

Although the information is missing or not at all, the art lovers still has it in memory. Why do the heads of art institutions continue to delay in rehabilitating and evaluating the names that have been missing from the scene for some time with Suzana Qatipi in the lead and behind: Kleopatra Skarco, Dokle; Petrit Dobjani; Why is Dhimiter Disho absent; Arta Babaramo; Dhimiter Dushi; Petrit Lulo; Marina Grabovari; Pellumb Elmazi; Kozma Dushi; Nikoleta Shoshi, a 15-year-old girl from Shkodra who performed the winning song “Flame and Snow” at the festival, featuring Rozeta Doraci and David Tukiqi; Naim Kercuku, Zija Saraci; Nazmie Kasmi, Ludmilla Baballeku; Jolanda Dhamo; Valentina Xhoni; Violeta Zefi; Telemak Papapano; Eduard Jubani , you name it…etc etc ???

How many times have you heard of these names or have you seen them on stage singing now from 25 years (since `90-ties at Festivals??? Many of them are not even in any episodic rebroadcast, the last one to introduce them to the new generation. “The names of many authors of the lyrics of the songs Gjoke Beci, Vullnet Mato, Skender Rusi, Zaho Puci, Foto Malo, Agim Shehu, Fatos Arapi, Xhevahir Spahiu, Zhuliana Jorganxhi, Luan Rexhepi, Shaban Murati, have also been deleted from the register.” ,… they should be honored.

There are no more successful female composers like they used to be: Spartak Tili, Enver Shengjergji, Dorian Nini, Limoz Dizdari, Kastriot Gjini, Such was the conditioned time and undoubtedly all these names as above will they would have gained fame in Europe with their voices if they enjoyed the freedom that today’s singers have. The same statement applies to the composers and creators of the texts, who are everywhere like night and day compared to today’s…
