He was born in Durres, on June 1, 1934. After completing his studies at the Artistic High School “Jordan Misja” in Tirana, he joined the Theater “Aleksander Moisiu” in Durres as a professional actor and after a long activity in the Amateur Theater Movement of his hometown.

He is the founder of the Dures Theater. He was only 18 years old when, together with some of the best amateur artists of the coastal city, on January 11, 1953, they gave life to the newest dramatic theater in the country. Lutfiu had interpreted several roles in the amateur groups of the shipyard, while he was more prominent as a dancer with the group of the palace of culture.

The variety of his roles includes different types, from different social strata, with individual tendencies and characteristics. In particular, he has been very popular for the characters of kind-hearted, bully, “babaloke” and sharp-witted old people, consoling the despair of young people in love, counselors, who often represent the moral statement and the lessons derived from their life experience; also, there were many roles with a negative attitude, cunning people or brats, drunkards or small-minded people.

These are mentioned in the roles: Gjeloshi in the drama “Votra e huej” (1956) by N. Luce, Skapeni in “Dredhite e Skapenit” (1957), Harlequin in “The Bride and Mother-in-law” and Argani in “I semuri imaginari” ( 1982) by Moliere, Socrates in the comedy “Bileta e lotarise” (1964) by D. Buban, Papuliu in “Dy me zero” (1974) by S. Comora, as well as the plays “Mulliri i Koste Bardhi”, “Pulebardha”, “The Fisherman’s Family”, “The Prefect”, “Miremengjez Elona”, “The Accused City”, “We Don’t Pay”, “Two and a Half Brothers”, “The White Crow”, etc.

His acting stands out for the security and inner calm in conveying the word of honor, for the scenic grace and the ability to emphasize what is essential in an action, gesture, response or a certain situation, without shouts and external encouragement. Even in cinematography, he has played 17 roles, generally interpreted in the above-mentioned typological cuts.

He drew attention especially with the role of the father, in the movie “Shoku yne Tili” (Our friend, Tili), 1981.

He retired in 1989 but continued to perform in two or three films such as: “Vetmi” (The Loneliness) (1990), ; “Nje dite e mrekullueshme” (A wonderful day) (2003); “Ne dhe Lenini” (We and and Lenin” (2009) but especially in several roles in the Theater where we can mention: “Nemesis”; “White Raven” etc.
