Ardian Cerga
Albanian actor of theater and cinematography achieved success mainly in `80s. Two are the main roles that identify him, Leka “In every season” and Kajo Komiti in “Mesonjetarja”!
Cerga is born on November 16, 1957. The future actor’s connections with art will be around the 6th-7th grade. In Fier, a Republic-wide Festival of Children’s Theaters was organized, and Ardian Cerga was there for the first time climbing the stage to perform his first role, a character of a child who worked as a servant for a “Bey”. Here, together with the desire to read books, his passion for cinema and acting was born.
After finishing high school, he entered in the Academy of Arts (ILA) for the acting department and that’s where everything took its course.
Ardian made his first appearance on the screen before art lovers in 1978 in the movie “Stars over Drin” in the role of Kreshnik, a mine designer. A year later, in 1979, he plays in the film “With the steps of friends” (Petriti);
In 1980, he became known with the film “Mesonjetorja” in the role of Kajo, and “In every season” in the role of Leka. Then we find him in the role of Astrit in the film “Spring did not come alone” (1988) and in 1989 in the film “People in the stream” in the role of engineer Arsen.
The characters he interpreted are a little outside the flow of those years, in the sense of a rebellious spirit. The character that has remained in his mind the most, however, is a small role in “The warm wind of the depths” by the director Vladimir Prifti, that role is for Ardian, significantly.
He left Albania after 1990 to live in Rome, the Italian capital, and like any other Albanian, it was not easy for the actor to face the reality, quite different from what the Albanian of those years dreamed of.
Even in Italy, Ardian has experience in cinematography, when the well-known director Daniele Vicari made a request to the Albanian embassy in Rome for actors living in Italy. So, after they meet together, he invites our actor for two feature films “L’orizzonte degli eventi” and “Il passato è una terra straniera” in which Ardian played with actors like Elio Germano and Valerio Mastandrea.
After he has his own company that he runs himself, service and distribution of pharmaceuticals, an activity completely outside of his passion for cinema.
Ardian Cerga has a passion for the sea and fishing in particular. It is also included in a project called “Albanian Excellence” with journalist Flora Nikolla as president, this project is the virtual return of Albanians in emigration who have achieved some success in the countries where they live.
In recent years, he has also been active in theatrical performances, such as in the comedy directed by Lorin Terez, “Barefoot in the Park” (2019) after two previous comedies “Tag” and “Women Power”.
Published for the first time since November 2015, and revised in the following years.
