Gazmend Gjoka
Actor, director and teacher.
Born in Tirana on March 31, 1971. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, acting branch, in 1993, Gjoka started working there as a teacher of “Artistic Speech”. In 1994, he won a scholarship for training as a teacher of the subject of “Scenic Speaking” at BADA (British American Drama Academy) in Oxford, England, and a year later in a scholarship theater, there, now for acting, in the direction of ” Speaking technique”.
Gjoka is one of the “new generation” actors. In 1996, created one of his most beautiful roles, Pierrot, in Moliere’s comedy Don Juan, on the stage of the National Theater. In 2000, managed to imagine with finesse and scenic beauty the character of the Inspector in the comedy “Accidental Death of Anarchist” by Dario Fo in the theater of the Academy of Arts.
The elements of grotesque, sarcasm and perversion were noticed in the role of Krapi in the part “Worse and worse” (1999).
We can mention his other roles: Bobcinks in N. Gogole’s “Inspector (auditor) (2000), Liridon in Andon Qesari’s “I want Husband” (2001); “Miss 39 years old” and “Torn Couple” (2002) by Dario Fo.
He was co-founder of the theater company OAX and co-director in its shows.
He acted as a child in the Kinostudio film “Three days in a life” (1986).
Gjoka was also an actor in the television editions of the variety show “Orange” (although much criticized for banality and discreet humor) portraying comic characters!
