Rakip Lamaj
Painter, make-up artist and hairdresser.
Born in Tepelene on March 7, 1954. Started the artistic high school “Jordan Misja” in Tirana for a sculptor in 1973. Worked for a while as a teacher in the Great Headquarters, for a year and a half, then he joined the army and after finishing the army, is sent as a teacher again to Saint George.
In 1977, Lamaj started working as a make-up artist at the Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”. Working with the giants of Albanian cinematography, for the historical make-up artist of Kinostudio, Rakip Lamaj has the most beautiful memory of his life.
Together with E. Pishtari, they created the make-up of the film “New shelter” (1977); His film as an independent make-up artist was “Mesonjetorja” – 1979;
He has a wide activity as a make-up artist in the Albanian film making in this position over 30 films as an author or co-author: “Toast of my wedding” – 1978 / “After the traces” – 1978 / “Spring in Gjirokaster” – 1978 / “Face to face” – 1979 / “Mesonjetorja” – 1979 / “New Mornings” – 1980 / “Brothers and Friends” – 1980 / “The Threat” – 1981 / “Treasure” – 1981 / “Red Covenant / Besa e kuqe” – 1982 / “The First Voyage” – 1984 / “The Militant” – 1984 / “Stones of my house” – 1985 / “On the Verge of Life” – 1985 / “Whiteness”-1986 / “Check Mate Twice” honored with a prize for components at the VII Festival Albanian Film in 1986 / “Small Encirclement” – 1986 / “Tracks” – 1987 / “Women`s substitute” – 1987 / “The Historian and the Chameleon” – 1990 / “The Living Wall” – 1990 / “The Rapists” – 1994 / “Last Love” – 1994 / “Continue with Beethoven” – 1994 / “Colonel Bunker” – 1995 / “Bolero” – 1997 / “Sako’s Wedding” – 1998 and others after.
