During these 45 years, the pure voice and the mastery of artistic speech have always been the distinguishing marks of Dhimiter Gjokes, which drew the viewer to the small television screen or with his ear to the radio set. He was born in Himare on November 6, 1955. As a child, he to be his parents and grandparents who tried to introduce him to the flow of art. They often nurtured his passion for reading, stories, taught him poems by different authors, apart from the ones he did at school. He was often given the opportunity to recite at various events when he was in elementary school and when he was 8 years old. In high school he also performed in the theater. Until the high school years there was a lively artistic activity. Contrary to the desire to continue his studies in high school, he leaves to perform his military service in Farke in the helicopter regiment. Here too he will be active as an actor in theater festivals among the army regiments. He is known and put in contact with many well-known figures of the performing arts, he works with the People's Artist Marie Logoreci as a director. During this time, he wins a contest on Radio Tirana for announcer with the maximum number of votes. Although a soldier, he becomes an external collaborator of Radio. During three years of military service, he was entrusted with the microphone of many shows, radio news magazine. He is known more with the radio microphone masters, the real professionals from Piro Noti, Elsa Xhaji, Meropi Mathia, Liljana Meçani, Vera Zheji, to journalists and directors such as Agron Çobanin or Xhelil Aliu. This experience will create for him the base of a profile that will later turn into one of the symbols of the microphone and the art of speaking. After completing his military service, he competes and wins the right to study at the High Institute of Arts, where he graduates in directing in 1983. After that, he moves to Television, without breaking away from radio. 
After finishing the ILA, he was appointed a director at the People's Theatre, but he was kept from television, leaving his dream for the stage to be a director and an actor together with the luminaries of art suspended. So fate did not allow him to exercise the profession of a director in the Theater, but a great power like politics made Dhimiter Gjoka continue working in Television, where for the leaders of this institution it was a great discovery. Awards and titles In 1986 he was awarded the gold medal as the best speaker at the 6th Albanian documentary and cartoon festival. Presenter of song festivals on RT SH, spectacles, Decades of May concerts… In 1993, he graduated brilliantly in electronic journalism at the Greek Radio and Television ERTI. In 1997-1999 he was appointed Artistic Director of Albanian Television. In 1999 he was awarded the "LUX CLARIOR" Award at the international documentary festival held in Assisi, Italy for the direction and script of the documentary "O JETO".
