THE PREMIERES OF THE “TEATRI POPULLOR”

“Fisherman’s Family”, one of the most successful performances of our theater, was staged on February 19, 1956, one year after the publication of the work written by the “People’s Artist” Sulejman Pitarka (1955).

This is the complete file for this show until 1963 when it was in the repertoire. After this year, 3 other actors were replaced and in 1974, it was remake with another director and with other actors. This year, the director was Misto Zoto and set designer Agim Zajmi (AP).

In 1964, the actor Agron Gashi left TP for another job and the role of Petriti was given for dubbing to Vladimir Prifti, who worked for nthe role and inter[reted in the show “The Fisherman’s Family” for several years.

In July 1969, he was transferred on duty to another city, but the show was to be given in November. It was proposed to Gjovalin Gjoka, where he performed with that premiere troupe until November 1973.

But while in the first version Selimi returns to this version, he remains with the thoughts of a traitor to his family and homeland.
Yes, this variant was staged in the “Skampa” theater in Elbasan by the director Drita Agolli (AP) (information as above according to the actor Gjovalin Gjoka, the son of the great artist Pjeter Gjoka AP, whom we sincerely thank).

This play, having a great success, continued to be staged and performed on the stage of the popular theater over the years with different actors: as can be seen from the tab, many other actors later joined the performance of this work. It must be said that this drama was also put on different stages of local theaters in Albanian cities, Shkodra, Korca, Durres, Vlora, Elbasan, etc.

A version of this drama was also recorded in the show “Teatri ne radio” directed by People’s Artist Pjeter Gjoka.
