Myftar Armiri (1932-1993)
Veteran actor of the State Estrade (Tirane).
He is one of the actors left in the “dust” of oblivion, just like many others, as is usually the case in the times of an endless transition that our country is going through, lost actors/artists together with the film materials to which they contributed a lifetime, all in enriching the art archive.
He is an important name in terms of his contribution to the State Estrada.
Myftar Armiri (or Tare – to relatives, friends) was born in a Libohova family on December 30, 1932. In 1950, under the supervision and initiative of director Xhemal Broja, he was called to establish the “Puppet Theater” together with M. Burda , E. Plasari, A. Kcira, A. Resuli, T. Kete, Q. Toro, E. Dauti, M. Cobani, etc. performing the first premiere of this troupe entitled “Fatbardha” by the Soviet writer Shneyder, where and even performed the role of director until 1952.
Two years later, during his military service, he took part in the Soldier’s Estrada where he continued until 1956. In this year, the artist Myftar Armiri started working at the State Estrada as an entertainer and after a while as an actor until 1968. Meanwhile, he graduated as a dramatic actor in 1962.
During this time, he had a very successful artistic career where he performed in all the premieres and in all the other activities that Estrada developed. His art as a conjurer, actor and presenter alongside partners such as S.Sallaku, S.Plasari, E.Dauti, R.Zyberi, D.Llukaci, M.Cobani, L.Ndoka, M.Pici, T.Kanci, B. Kapexhiu, Xh. Muftiu (Kacja), the symbol singer Anita Take and Vace .Zela etc. unfolded in all its natural and stinging talent.
“Tare” became very loved by the public that filled the Estrade hall for his elegance, subtle irony, cultured humor, sympathy, and talent. The artistic duets with Skender Sallaku and Melpomeni Cobani were remembered by the spectators of that time for the jokes and countless characters.
In 1950, he performed in the three-act comedy of the Russian author V.Katajev, “A Day off” together with big names such as Qenan Toro, Xhavid Xhepa, Rudolf Stambolla, Luan Qerimi, etc.
Meanwhile, in 1954, with the play “Midis nesh, – Ditari i nje Bojaxhiu” by the author Mustafa Gerbelleshi, adapted for the stage by Dinios Bubani, he achieved another artistic success. The artist Myftar Amiri has also participated in several feature films of the Kinostudio brand: “Fortuna” (1959), “Estrada ne Ekran” (1968), and after many years he returns to interpretation in the film “The Historian and the Chameleons”.
In the period 1970-1972 he was appointed in charge of the Theater of the High Institute of Arts, where he collaborated with R. Ndrenika, G. Kame, etc.
Myftar Amiri was honored with the “2nd Class Work Order” in 1987 for his contribution.
He passed away while working in the newspaper “Rilindja Demokratike” on August 19, 1993, after an incurable illness.
The silence of the state, and especially of the leaders of the institutions related to the performing arts, in the rehabilitation of these figures, of the unforgettable artists of that starting constellation that left an indelible mark in the history of the performing arts, is intolerable.
By chance, the online conversation, on the Fcb “Albanian Cinematography” page, master Robert Ndrenika, “People’s Artist”, in a confidence shows that Myftar Armiri was his first director at the “Pioneer House” in Tirana.
“Tarja was my first director in the house of the pioneer (at the villa of Musa Juke)”.
This is how the great artist of the stage and the screen would testify. While this collaboration was repeated after many years when both of them found themselves at the High Institute of Arts during the years 74-75.
We Hartley Thanks the Armiri Family for sharing the memory and respect of the great actor Myftar Armiri.
