Liza Laska February 6, 1926 – August 31, 2014 Outstanding actress of the "Petro Marko" Drama Theater, Vlore and at the same time one of the icons of acting in Albanian cinematography. The incarnation of the heroic mother from the laberia. She was born on February 6, 1926 in Vlora, she is an actress who holds the title "Honored Artist". In many roles, she has been the embodiment of the mother figure, perhaps because this is better embodied in her features. One of the well-known actresses, who are no longer alive, and who have left their mark on the stage art with their performances, who have left indelible impressions, is undoubtedly Liza Laska. Anyone who knows the Albanian scene is convinced that these Albanian "stars" deserve love and recognition. The fans of the film feel nostalgia, pain and pride, respect, for that constellation of artists in the foreground for those who are no longer alive today, Vitore Nino, Violeta Manushi, Marta Burda, Marie Logoreci, Esma Agolli, Dhorkë Orgocka, Drita Pelingu, Liza Vorfi, Besa Imami, Antoneta Papapavlo……… Actress Liza Laska is part of that generation that gave the identity of the Albanian cinema and which continue to remain the favorite of the Albanian scene even today, for what they do in the performing arts. Actress of the "Petro Marko" Theater in Vlore, she has played many roles in the Theater, while in the Film there are about 15 of them. She was the most active in her city, so much so that she made shows every day, but she was also the most favorite of the directors in this genre, the offers for feature films with the telegrams that came from Tirana for Liza, they never showed her, because they wanted her to everyone played for their theater! She has expressed something like this herself: "…. because if I left to engage in the shooting of some film, the show would remain uncast because I had roles in almost the entire repertoire of the Vlora theater's artistic season. I was also the age that required such roles, there were young actresses who were very talented, but those roles that were given to me required my age." In 1958, in her beginnings as an actress, she left an impression on the viewer in the show "To Expressive and with a portrait that makes you think, Liza Laska had confidently entered the path of her theater dream. The house in the suburbs" is another interpretation that endeared Liza to the theater audience. Now that she was over 30, her character was more mature and real. But the theater would not be the only stage where Liza Laska would find herself. of all characters, who have left a mark on the viewer. In 1971, the director Dhimitër Anagnosti entrusted her with the first role in a cinematographic production. She interprets the role of a villager in "Malet me blerim bihbar", a film which takes you to 1943, where the story of little Lilo is still remembered by the public. Two years later, the director Kristaq Dhamo entrusts her with another role in the film "Brazdat". In 1974, she was given the role of Rema's mother in World War II's War Trails. The year 1974, when Liza was around 50, will mark her peak as an actress with the role of Mara, in the film "The Last Winter". The film based on Anastas Kondo's story, directed by Ibrahim Muçaj and Kristaq Dhamos, would turn the figure of Liza into a symbol of all the suffering of Albanian mothers during the National Liberation War. Despite the question marks that history has, the portrait of mother Mara, who walked for days in the snow to keep the partisans with bread and wood, is the best description that can be made of sacrifice and war. This year, Liza will play the role of a servant of the poor house in the movie "Poppies on the Wall" directed by Dhimitër Anagnosti. The film talks about the efforts and help given by debaters and young Albanians in the fight against the Italians who invaded the country on April 7, 1939. In 1977, she performed in the film "Gunat mbi tela" directed by Muharrem Fejzo. The role of the mother will be entrusted to her again in the movie "Plumba Empadorit" under the direction of Mevlan Shanaj. She would have the same role in 1983 in the film "City Lights" directed by Fehmi Hoshafi and scripted by Sabri Godo. It seems that the character of the mother was already found for the Albanian directors, so the director Kristaq Dhamo did not think long when he gave her this role in the film "Decision" 1984. She will be "Llano's mother" in the film "And one day comes" directed by Vladimir Prifi. The character of Llano, played by Viktor Zhusti, is remembered for his subject, a department director who has problems with his professional and social character. A typical socio-realist scenario, but where Liza shines with her sequences with that very human portrait. In 1987, she played the role of Teta Kalina in the film "My Family" under the direction of Albert Xholi. While in 1989, the director Dhimitër Anagnosti entrusted the role of Countess Dizeta in ""The return of the dead army". In the early 90s, she performed in a film by Lisenko Malaj "Death of a husband", to return to cinematography almost 12 years later with the film "A wonderful day". After the 90's, the actress who lived in the city of Vlora, suffered in silence from the stage. The rare performances in the theater could not extinguish the great passion for the scene of the artist. This is what she wrote to her friend, Drita Pelingu, in a communication from a few years ago: "Drita, I admire you for continuing to work, for being tireless and for making paintings that are grateful and respect you Work is what gives you the greatest pleasure. In Fier, I had a chance to talk to Mr. Ruzhdi you have the opportunity to become active, while we in the circles are dead forever… Eh, how bad, that this germ of art, unhealed, dies together with the actor!" Liza Laska closed her eyes forever on August 31, 2014 in her apartment in Vlora, at the age of 88, taking with her the dream of great to climb the stage again.. Awards Order "Naim Frashëri" 2nd class Labor medal 1st class Medals second class work In 1973, Merited Artist. ______________________ Reference: Albanian forums and online newspapers.
