Kolë Kaftalli (1946-2009) Actor of the theater “Migjeni”, Shkoder and of the Albanian Cinematography.
Born on February 2, 1946, in Shkodër. Well-known actor and director of the Albanian scene. Comes from a famous family of artists. One of the well-known names of performing arts, especially in the city of Shkodra. He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Tirana. After graduation, he started working at the theater “Migjeni” in Shkodër. With the troupe of this theater, he performs around 60 dramas and comedies, including some in the National Theatre.
Kaftalli has performed in various roles in 7 feature films of the cinema studio. In 1978, he made his film debut with a small role in “The Bride and the Siege”.
Among other films we can mention: 1979: “The days that brought spring”; 1980: “Sketerre `43”; 1982: “Autumn Rebukes”; 1982: “The flame of the mountains”; 1982: “The Good Man”; 1985: “The Uninvited”; 1986: “When the doors of life open”; 1988: “Rough Coast”; 1988: “The third” etc.
Part of Kolë Kaftalli’s artistic career has also been directing, which includes several dramas staged by him in the city of Shkodra.
In the last period of his life, he devoted himself to children’s theater, being the first in the city of Shkodra and in the north of Albania to set up a puppet theater. He passed away at the age of 68 on October 7, 2009, after a serious illness.
