Faruk Basha
Cinematographer of Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”
Born on February 9, 1940, in Tirana. It comes from a family from Peja settled in Tirana in `30s. Finished his studies at the Higher Pedagogical Institute for mathematics and physics. Basha starts working at Kinostudio as an assistant operator in the feature film “Commissar of Light”.
Later, he shoots various subjects for newsreels and as an assistant in feature films. From 1968 and from time to time he shoots chronical, documentary and feature films as a cameraman.
Basha had the greatest reputation as a feature film operator. His first film was “Oshetime ne bregdet” (1969). During his career as a cameraman, he shots 13 documentary and documentary films and 18 feature films, which stood out especially for their figurative side and artistic mastery.
We can mention: “Malet me blerim mbuluar” (1971); “Mornings of war” (1971); “Tomka and his friends” (1973); “War Path” (1974); “At the beginning of summer” (1975); “The Little Partisan Velo” (1980); “Difficult Start” (1985); “The train leaves at seven to five” (1988);
Basha is also the author of several cartoons, always as a cameraman. “Vajza me patat” (1979); “The Struggle for Life” (1981) as co-author; “Two feasts” (1982); “Zogu pushebardhe” (1983) etc.
In 1992, he was in charge of the Film Processing Laboratory.
