Xhuljeta Kulla
“Let everyone know, I love you Kaso”.
The actress of hundreds of roles on stage and theater was born in Berat on December 31, 1946.
In Kucove, she attended the then 7-year-old class. As a child, she was artistically inclined, and this greatly influenced her life to take the direction of performing arts.
So her parents sent her to the artistic circles in the Pioneer House, where she stood out quite well in recitation, sang equally well, hosted and performed, which were often accompanied by warm applause in her direction to encourage the little one to start in the future an artistic career.
She goes to the Artistic High School “Jordan Misja” in Tirana and then she is accepted to the “Aleksander Mojsiu” High School for actresses, which became part of the Academy of Arts.
Meanwhile, as a student at the Academy of Arts, Kulla would stand out in the role of “Kryeneçe” from the comedy “Zbutja e kryeneçes” by Shakespeare. That role will not only give her a maximum grade from the group of pedagogues, but also further confidence and as a point of reference in her entire creativity.
After graduation, Xhuljeta moved to Berat, where she once worked as a director of the city’s amateur groups and once of the Professional Estrade. It is precisely here that she meets the artist Sejfulla Myftari “Ceke” for the first time on stage.
After marrying the writer Pellumb Kulla, she moved to Vlore in the professional theater there, where she performed two prominent roles: Shega, in N. Prifti’s “Wedding without a Bride” and Nina, the Russian officer’s wife, in the drama “Red Signal” from B. Kozeli.
Xhuljeta Kulla will be transferred to Fier. It is precisely here that she will get her physiognomy as an actress. In her artistic career, she brought to light the golden years of Professional Estrada, together with her wonderful colleagues, Luftar Pajo, Fuat Boci, Vasil Vaso, Arqile Lipe, Todi Llupi, Hasan Bregu, Sotir Stefa, etc.
These colleagues of hers called Fier’s estrada as and Xhulieta’s presence there as “Snow White with seven siblings”.
Xhulieta herself will testify: “Such a group of partners was a rare fortune, a fortune that comes to the artist only once in five hundred years. Lucky was also the extended period of literary fertility of my husband Pellumb Kulles, who wrote and staged pieces that became the cream of humor at the national level.”
Aside from her engagement in four Kinostudjo films with minor roles, from the time she moved to Fier until her departure, she was a regular actress on the stage with occasional appearances in the theater. She was present in all Albanian TV shows of the New Year, from 1975 to 1993.
