Profile of the actor Xelal Tafaj!

Xelal Tafaj Actor of the dramatic theater "A. Moisiu" in Durres, of the National Theater and Albanian cinematography. He was born in Tirana on January 31, 1953. He completed his studies at the High Institute of Arts for an actor in 1976 and was appointed actor in the theater "Aleksa nder Moisiu" – Durres. For a while he was even the director of this institution in 1998. His first role in the theater was that of Sparti in Kadri Pirro's drama "Failure of a Crusade", then he played main roles mostly in romantic, heroic plots dramatic, positive characters with feelings of love, existential suffering or struggle for survival, such as Bozdari in "Beyond Love", the dramatization of Jeronim de Rades' poem "Serafina Topia" (1984), Hepi Bern in "Net vere", dramatization of the novel "American Tragic Night" by Erskin Kollduell, Marko in "Song of love with crows" (1994) and again Marko in "City without love" by Bashkim Hoxhe, Altini in "Knocking on the door of pain" (2001), author and director Serafin Fanko , the doctor in "Father" by A. Strindberg. The actor has also successfully tried the genre of comedy, so we can mention the role of Agron in "The Yellow Card" (1981), with the chief of the carabinieri in "Who Pays" (2004) by Dario Fo, or even the role of the negative opposite under the satirical and sarcastic lens like Grigu in "Ylli pa emer" by the Romanian M. Sebastian (1988), Kunrov in "Vajza pa prike" (2006) by N. Ostrovski. Other theatrical performances are the drama "Tango" (2008) by S. Mrozhnek in the role of Ston, Alfredi in "Te jesh nene" (2006) by R. Brako where he also won the award as "Best Actor" in Albanian Theater Festival in Diber, Macedonia. He also performed several roles in the cinema, starting with the well-known film "Tomka and his friends" (1977) in the role of an Italian soldier. His most successful roles were in "The Guest" (1979) in the role of Fatjon and "Teammate" (1984) as a train driver. He also acted in the films: "Ceta e vogel" (1979); "An incident at the port" (1980); "Bitter Spring" (1985), Sergeant, "Chronicle of a Night" (1990) as Krista Bushi. In the period 1992-1995, he worked as an employee for culture in the Municipality of Durres. ___________
