He was born in December 1913 in Cherbourg, France. Mare was the son of Alfred Emmanuel VP Villain-Marais and Aline Marie Louise Vassord. The beginning of life for Jean Marena was difficult. A childhood without a father. raised by his mother, who often disappeared from the house, mysteriously, for days at a time. At school, little Jean dreams. He dreams of a world where his parents will always be by his side. He will see life without suffering. The future, optimistic. Humor and resourcefulness become everyday features for him. His friends see him with envy. Since Jean Mare has discovered the secret of a happier life, which is more or less like the skill of the alchemist, who knows how to transform the lead of sadness into gold. Eighteen-year-old Jean Mare is a photographer's assistant. Then, he wants to play theater. In the conservatory, they do not accept it. Then, he takes paid private lessons from master Charles Dyle, working as an extra in theaters. And, it doesn't take long for the sacrifices to be rewarded. "In 1937," he recalls, "I was offered to play Jean Cocteau's Oedipus the King." I went for the test and they kept me. That's how my career in the theater started'. Jean Mare – a tall actor with imposing looks and characteristic physical features, seemed born for great film roles and respected heroines. Jean Mare belonged to the generation of the popular Gerard Philippe whom death took at a very young age, when much more was expected of his creative individuality. It can rightly be said that Mare continued what had been left by the legendary Zherar Filipi, to raise the multifaceted cinematic art much higher. He walked confidently, proudly and undefeated on his glorious paths to new and colossal successes, always being convinced that he was right in such a journey. He knew and had great skills to face various challenges because he had a heavy burden on his shoulders and as such, he successfully performed all those powerful positive roles. With special inclinations and rare talent, Jean Mare showed success with every film project he started, remaining as one of the main actors of French cinematography Based on his films full of adventures and those of the great Gerard Philippe, even Jean Paul Belmondo made his anthology film "Cartushi", directed by the famous cinematographer – Philip De Broka, which has a great similarity with the actor's own "The Hunchback Knight", but also with Robert Osei's series "Angelica" which has remains among the most watched cinematographic works to this day.
