Shtino was born on November 12, 1936 in Pogradec. She developed her artistic activity in the “Zihni Sako” Theater in Gjirokastra, being one of the main actresses of this stage during the period 1968 – 1990. During 22 years, her activity on the stage of the Gjirokastra theater was wide and filled with many leading roles where she has stood out with her talent nurtured since childhood, precisely in the small theater of her hometown in Pogradec.
Her first show was the premiere set on the stage of the creation of the professional theater “Zihni Sako”, where she also performed alongside her husband Hiqmet Shtino. In addition to theatrical performances, Lumturi Shtino was also active in comedy, creating a wide gallery of artistic figures realized with skill and artistic dignity.
There are many theater performances where she performed, in main and secondary roles, of which as below: “The dammed gorge” as a blinded / “Friends” – Liria / “Drita” – Manushaqja / “The big wedding of lights” – mother / “The House with two Gates”- Esmaja / “The Red Sky” / “In front of yourself”- Xhexeja / “The airport’- Grandmother / “The House on the Boulevard”- as Bardha / “It was war time” 1974- Xhexeja / ” The End of the Sinores”- Gjena / “Dawning the year `45” / “On the way up”- as mother / “Blood border”- The Woman / “Operation”- Mrs. Piancentini / “The End of the World”- Zinka / “Anne’s Worries”- Ana / “The Way of the Zavalinas” – Xheja / “Bloody Peace” – / “Ask the Mountains” – Mother / “Defend the Truth” – Urania / “The cradle sold song” – as Madam Kraus / “The Man with the Cannon” – Nevzari`s wife / “There in the Ebro” – Juanita / “True Love” – Aferdita / “This should not be forgotten” – Drita / “The Fiancée” – Andronaqi / “The Story of a Night” – Merjeme / “The Match” – Nena / “One short winter’-Nasta / “Infidelity”-Katina / “Roots” as women / “I’m looking for my house”-Mother / “Sounds and Shooting”- Lucia.
Lumturi Shtino was also active in a considerable number of television or feature films of Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”, among which we can mention: “The partisan Zani” – 1976 (Mother); “Shtrengate ne mal” TV – 1979 (counselor’s wife); “A Comrade women from the Village” – 1980 (one of Ollge’s three friends) “Tale from the past” – 1987; “A boy and a girl” – 1990.
During her career, she has been awarded many prizes in national theater competitions.
After the 90s, she moved to Tirana, where she lived until she passed away on July 14, 2022. She was an actress who will be remembered for her real interpretation in the embodiment of characters, who worked tirelessly contributing with passion, particularly in the professional theater scene of Mr. Sakos”.
