Mihal Çarka (1925-2001)
Photographer, film consultant at Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”
Founder of the photographic laboratory of Kinostudio.

He was born in Sheper, Zagori, on March 16, 1925. At a young age, Mihali had a close family relationship with National Liberation
Anti-Fascist Movement. After his release, finished primary school and became passionate about photography.

In 1949, was sent to Moscow near the Central Studio of Documentary Films with the first group of 6 Albanian filmmakers who were preparing to work in the Kinostudio that was being built.

It specializes in various laboratory processes of film processing / development, lighting, printing, negative mounting, etc. processes.

On March 30, 1950, started working in Cinematography, becoming the founder of this sector. Carka worked with commitment and professional correctness until he retired in the late 80s.

Mihal Carka has the special merit in the preparation of many frames of the different specialties of the film laboratory and also becoming the founder of the photographic laboratory of the cinema studio that served for the rehearsals of the actors, the preparation of series of photographs for the distribution of films, etc.
Passed away on March 28, 2001.
