Aleksander Pogaçe (1943-2016)!
Dramatic actor of Albanian Theater and Cinema
Born in Fier on October 16, 1943, well-known stage actor both in Theater and Cinematography. His acting play creates the impression of an aristocratic actor, interpreting with skill and professionalism many roles that were assigned to him by the directors even though most of them were negative characters.
In 1964, he finished High School in the acting department at “Aleksander Moisiu”, and immediately after this year he will become a member of the troupe of the “Petro Marko” Theater in Vlore. In his long artistic activity, he also took part in the theater troupes of Fier and Gjirokastra, standing out for his high level of interpretation, an actor of great proportions in the Theater but without the merits that undoubtedly belong to him the contribution given to these bodies. To be mentioned among many theatrical performances is the drama “Two shoots in Paris” (1982). Other shows we can mention “The Whore worthy of respect”; “Behind the doors”; “Filomena Marturano” etc.
He plays few roles, almost all of them negative, in the film genre, in cinematography, but of course the spectator has never forgotten them. His activity in the cinema mainly extends during the 80s. In 1980, he will play in three feature films, in the role of a doctor in “New Mornings”, “Bullets to Emperor” (TV), Lieutenant Franz in “Martyrs of Monuments” (1980). A year later, two other films for him, in the role of Peter Mayewski in “The Threat” (1981), and in “Treasure” (1981) in the role of a German officer.

In cinematography, actor Pogace will continue in 1983 with a role of Reshit in “A name among people”, “Green field, red field” – 1984. Then there will be a three-year break when in 1986 he will interprets Ferruccio in “Stone of Covenant”, then to continue in 1987 in the role of Teofan in “Invisible World”.
After 1990, he was hardly active in any show, film or theater. Among other things, we must remember that Aleksander comes from a family of artists, he is also the son of the comedian Nestor Pogace.
He passed away on March 17, 2016.
