Namik Prizreni, Kinostudio's first film painter!

Namik Prizreni, the first Albanian film painter, holds the title "Deserved Artist"! He was born in Tirana on February 18, 1936. His name is strongly connected with the history of cinema. Prizren has contributed to the construction of a model on film painting. After finishing the Art Lyceum for painting, he would leave for the Czech Republic where he would study as a "film painter" for almost two years. Then he started working in the film titles department of Kinostudio in 1975. He realized as a painter the first Albanian film "Tana" – 1958, thus becoming the first scenographer of the Albanian feature film. Then it returned to this department of movie titles. After 1969, he devoted himself entirely to his activity as a painter of feature films, starting with the film "Old Beaches" – 1969. Until 1993, he worked as a painter in about 20 films, among which his work stands out as in: "I teti ne brox ” – 1970; "Mountains with covered purchase" – 1971; "Cutting threads" – 1976; "Poppies on the Wall" – 1976 film which won an award for scenography; "Face to Face" – 1979; "Sketerre `43" – 1980; "A night without light" – 1981; "Militant" – 1984; "Decision" – 1984; "In the name of freedom" – 1987; "Ballad of Kurbini" – 1990, also honored with an award for scenography; Many of the films he has worked on have been evaluated in national and international festivals and his work has been evaluated with cups and medallions. In addition to working in cinematography, Prizren has contributed to the composition of a series of postage stamps and for 30 years in a row has produced a large number of philatelic series (40 shows with 250 images). He has composed the Albanian Lek metal coins which are still in use, as well as recently composed commemorative numismatic collections for the Bank of Albania. Another genre where Prizren has stopped during his career is graphics. He has given life to a number of graphic works, mainly movie posters where he himself was also a painter, but also posters and emblems for important events of the time, which have been part of various exhibitions, appreciated and with prizes.
