Mira Meçule – Mamaqi (1947 – 2018)!
Music and sound designer, editor at Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”.
She was born in Tirana on December 9, 1947. Graduated from the Artistic High School “Jordan Misja” for music and on September 12, 1966 she started working as an editor at the Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”.
Mecule worked in this position in the films “Encounter with Death” (1967), “Old Beaches” (1969), “Valley of Riflemen” (1970).
After that, she worked as a music composer in documentary films. Mecule directed a large number of films, constantly specializing and becoming a master in her field.
For the musical formulation in the documentary film “A city on a canvas” she was awarded the Medallion of the 7th Documentary Film Festival. At the same time, she formulated the music, noises and various sound effects in a considerable number of cartoons and was awarded an Award for the components in the cartoon “Magic Flower” (1985).
From 1985 to 1992, she made 20 feature films: “From the middle of darkness” – 1978; “The Militant” – 1984; “The first night of freedom” – 1984; “Postponed wedding” – 1985; “Stones of my house” – 1985; “Twice Check Mate” – 1986; “And one day comes” – 1986; “When the doors of life open” – 1986; “One more life” – 1986; “Come” – 1987; “Violin strings” – 1987; “Flutura in my cabin” – 1988; “Benches in the park” – 1988″; “People in the stream” – 1989; “A boy and a girl” – 1990; “Behind the facade” – 1992; “Plastic bullet” – 1996.
She emigrated to Italy where unfortunately passed away after a serious illness on June 20, 2018.
