Her voice was the special voice of change at the end of the 80s. As a talented and passionate singer, she “shook off the dust” of Korca`s serenades by reviving them again on stage.

Born in Korce, but raised, educated, and trained as an artist in the picturesque town of Pogradec, where she completed secondary school. During the school period, she was active in artistic groups, but also near the House of Artistic Culture, where she stood out for her melodious and special voice, distinguishing herself from other singers.

Later, she also became active near the Estrada of the city in Pogradec, where she participated in the variety shows of this Estrada, as well as in various tours both inside and outside the district. As a result, she participates in the First Song Festival in Pogradec and is honored with the First Prize precisely with the song “Erdh’ pranvera”.

She completed her higher studies at the University of Tirana, in the Department of Philosophy and Political Science. She took part in 10 edition of Festivals in RTSH from 1984 to 1994, the main achievement in this “Festival in RTSH”, where she was awarded twice with second prizes, in the 25th and 26th editions, are the songs “The most beautiful name” and “The evening that holds my love”, as well as participating in several “Kur vjen pranvera” Festivals. In December 1984, it will be her first participation in the 23rd Festival at RTSH.

Three years later, in March 1987, she took part in the “Kur vjen Pranvera” Festival with the songs “I want to say” and “Near the blue sea”. This year, in December 1987, she will participate for the third time in the 26th RTSH Festival with the song “A life from my life”. With this song evaluated by the jury with full 100 points, it wins the second prize, after the Libohova sisters who had accumulated 98 points (?).

This was also one of the first wonders of the modernization of the scene, where for the first time the festival was organized with a jury giving points on a large monitor…. In March 1988, she participated in the festival “Kur Vjen Pranvera” with the song “Leter malli”. Her participation in this Festival continues in April 1990, with the song “Bisede me ty”. Also in December 1990, she participated in the 29th RTSH Festival with the song “Nuk je enderr”. It will be the year 1992, when Ermira Babaliu publishes the album titled with her own name “Ermira Babaliu” a year later, 1993 with the second album titled “Ermira Babaliu and the music of Korce”. Meanwhile, in December 1994, she will participate in the 33rd RTSH Festival with the song “E njejta enderr”. From 2001 onwards, Ermira Babaliu will publish several albums: 2001 – “Kur Ti Me Mungon” / 2002 – “Pres…” / 2003 – “Mall (Wedding song) -2003; “Return” Vol 5. 

                

On December 25, 2011, Ermira Babaliu together with Megi Laska, Eltina Minarolli & Denis Hasa released the video clip “Silent Night & Jingle Bells”.

Then it continues with other video clips as below: 2012 – “Destination”; 2012, “Siberian Love”, in collaboration with Greg Stryker. With this song, Ermira Babaliu participates in the Nights of the Albanian clip in 2013. 2017 – “Dua”; 2020 – “Fragment of a road”. The music was composed by Edmond Rrapi, while the text was written by Irma Kurti.

She currently lives for many years in Michigan, Detroit, where she practices her profession as a singer “Singer/Recorder, Independent Musician & Singer and Teacher, Activities Coordinator”.
