Vladimir Kotani Composer Born in Tirana on March 10, 1951. He completed his studies at the High Institute of Arts for music. In addition to other musical creativity, he is also the composer of the music of the Albanian film "Kur ndahesh nga shoket" (1986) as well as several cartoons: "Njeriu prej debore" – 1982, "Elkana and the dallandyshja" – 1985, "Kercuri" – 1987 and theatrical performances with puppets such as: "Rosak Topolaku"; "Aurela and the Robot", "Magic Words" Vladimir Kotani has also composed music for several performances of the National Theater, from which we can mention: "Besa e Madhe", "Waltz of the Titanic", "8 persons plus", "Kati i 6 – was" musical pieces from "The General of the Dead Army", "The Bald Singer" and "Fondo and Lis". Also, V. Kotani is the author of the music for the documentary "Thuaje kenges rini" in v. 1986 and the TV operetta "Elira" in 1988. Vladimir Kotani is a well-known author of many songs, composer in several genres of music. He holds the authorship of about 1500 composed songs of Albanian light music. Three times winner of the first prize in the Festivals in RTSH, in 1984 with the song "Cel si gonxhe aljaria" sung by the duet N. Koka & G. Cela. It begins a year later, 1985, with the song "At the age of youth" sung by Parashqevi Simaku and from the 33rd edition of the Festival in 1993 with the song "When I lost a love" sung by Manjola Nallbani. Also, Vladimir Kotani has been honored with many second and third prizes in the same Festivals in RTSH, in the concerts "When Spring Comes", "Music Survey". He has composed songs for the most popular singers of the time such as Luan Zhegu, Liljana Kondakciu, Bashkim Alibali, Kozma Dushi, Anita Bitri, Nertila Koka, Pellumb Elmazi, etc. In his career as a composer, a considerable number of instrumental, classical vocal pieces are also included: "Fantasy Dance for Violin and Orchestra"; "Fantasia for Flute and Orchestra" Romance "Melody" for Trumpet and Orchestra; "Three dance suites" for the May Concerts 1987-1988; "Fantasy for wind orchestra"; "Symphonic Dance No. 1, No. 2, No. 3; "Polka" – for String Orchestra "Parts for Cello and Piano": "Prelude", "Nocturn"; "Trio" – Scherzo for flute, bassoon and piano; "Moto Perputo" – For string orchestra; "Aria" – vocal romance; "Te Kerkoj" – vocal romance. ________________ Encyclopedia of Albanian Cinematography – Toena 2002 / A.
