Prominent composer. “Merited Artist” & “Great Master”

He was born on April 27, 1949 in Tirana from a family originating from Leskovik. Lalo completed his studies at the High Institute of Arts for music in 1973. Competed several times in the Song Festivals in RTSH, where even though his melodies were wonderful, he won only once in the composition of the song “Toka e diellit” in v. 1989. Many songs composed by him have been quite preferable for the youth of the time.

Alexander Lalo, being a very good connoisseur of the orchestra, has made a significant contribution to the orchestration. In addition to his compositions, he has orchestrated a large number of light music and works.

His debut is in the 9th Song Festival in RTSH in 1970 with the composition of the song “Shoqja e bankes” sung by Vera Dervishi and Naim Kercuku as dubbing singer. It continues a year later with the 10th edition of this Festival with the song “Vajza me balone” (Zija Saraci / Rozeta Doraci) which, however, does not even manage to qualify for the final night; Aleksander Lalo was present at the much-talked-about festival of 1972, the 11th edition, with the composition of the song “Girls and the composer” with lyrics by Roland Gjoze and sung by the well-known singer Suzana Qatipi. Not even this song managed to qualify in the top 10 of the final night.

He returns to competing in Festivals in v. 1974 in edition of 13th with the song “Gezimin mbajme ne zemer” sung by the singers Kujtim Kamberi and Suzana Qatipi; and again in the following editions, becoming one of the most distinguished composers at this Festival. Lalo wins the Festival of v. 1989 with the song “The land of the sun” with verses by Xh. Spahiu.

Second prize in v. 1978 in edition of 17th in the composition of the song “Grain and song” and 1980 in the edition of 19th, Third prize with the song “When we are both together”!

In addition to other activities as a composer, he has made a great contribution to the field of cinematography by composing the music of about 25 feature films and cartoons. The music of the film “The Last Winter” (1976) stands out especially for its high level;

He started his activity with the music of the pantomime film “the odyssey of fans” (1972) and later continued with the films “The Spoiled Mimosa” (1973); “Seeking of five hours shift” (1974); “Tomka and his friends” (1977); “Girls with red ribbons” (1978); “The Former Emblem” (1979); “The old cartridge” (1980); “The Bride” (1980); “A general is captured”; “Our Common Home” (1971); “Treasure” (1981); “A little delay” (1982); “The warm wind of the depths” (1983) honored with an award; “Blue field, red field” (1984); “See you in the eye” (1985); “Check-mate twice” (1986); “Endless words” (1986); “The historian and the chameleon” (1989); as well as the cartoons “Work is gold” (1981); “Piciruku is waiting for two friends” (1983); “The wind and the balloon” (1985); “Toys and Miri” (1986); “Happy Again” (1987); “Sounds of Oblivion” (1996) etc.

Aleksander Lalo passed away on November 19, 2017 after a heart attack.

He held the title “Deserved Artist”
