In 1940, he went to study in Italy in the branch of canto, at the "Centro experimantale", and then at the conservatory of "Xoakino Rossini", he was unable to finish because of the war, so in 1943 he was forced to return to Albania . After participating in several concerts as a singer, she became active in the theater group directed by Mihal Popi, where later in 1944 enters the drama school for actresses. She is one of the "pioneers" in the creation of the State Theater in 1945, one of the first actresses of this institution. He will stay in this Institution until v. 1977 when he retired. She was the wife of Besim Levonje. Her first role on the stage of the People's Theater (today TK) was that of Bernarda in the comedy "Topazi" by M. Pagnol since 1945. In her long artistic life she has performed over 90 roles in the Theater where she excelled in many of them such as: Bernarda in "Topazi", the mother in "Leonida" (1947), Valja in "Platon Kreçoit" (1949 ); Hajria in "The Prefect", Hajria in "Halili and Hajria" (1950) by Kole Jakove, Emilia in "Otello", Ana Andrejeva in the comedy "Revizori" by N. Gogol performed in 1947 and 1952; Smeraldina in the comedy "Servant of two mistresses" (1952) by Golgoni; Mrs. Zhurden in the comedy "Noble Bourgeoisie" (1954) by Moliere; Mara to "Perkolgjinajt" (1966) by K. Jakove; Taken at "Cuca e Maleve", etc. The role of Hajria in the comedy "The Prefect" by B. Levonje has remained in the mind of our spectator, completed in the realization as if he had died. 1948 with partner Mihal Popi as well as the 1973 version with the great actor Robert Ndrenika. With this role, she was able to create the type of an ignorant, brutal, boastful woman, using with taste forms of the grotesque, elements of humor and caricaturism of the character in the comical magnification of the flaws and weaknesses of this character. Her last role at the National Theater was in 1977 in the comedy "Lobsters". Behije Levonja also stood out as a humorous performer in the show "Ora gazmore" on Radio Tirana, a show that was directed by her husband Besim Levonja. Behija played the role of Ishes, a guy with a pronounced popular, provincial physiognomy from the area of Tirana. On the screen, she has performed several roles, mainly second ones, as in "Radiostation" (1979) with an episodic role of a bourgeois woman; "Gezhoja e vjeter" (1980) in the role of a sportswoman, etc. She was an actress with a comic flair and a prominent feeling who often applied grotesque forms, farcical ones, light elements of humor, even forms of drawing in the embodiment of the character, interpreting in a natural, organic and more the truth. The actress has been honored with the high title "Honored Artist".
