Telat Agolli
One of the most prominent figures of circus art in Albania. It is one of the few distinct cases where art and sport go hand in hand. He was among the first acrobat artists included in the Tirana Variety Troupe (year 1952), as a professional. Creator and founder of the Albanian Professional Circus, Agolli has been the Artistic Director and often the director of the Circus Troupe, leading this troupe and this art to high professional and artistic achievements, at contemporary international levels. 
In this activity, Agolli was noted for the high level of execution and interpretation of acrobatic numbers, in different genres of the circus, which were many, where the acrobatic etudes, air numbers, those of balance on trunks and bicycles stand out, in that of balance with bamboo on the forehead and shoulder, etc.
Telat Agolli was born on February 15, 1932, in Tirana, finished his higher education at the Institute of Physical Culture “Vojo Kushi”, while he developed a year of qualification in acrobatics in China in 1960-1961.
National champion in gymnastics (year 1954), absolute national champion for 20 years in weightlifting with 99 national records (activity 1950-1972telat9), sports coach of the “17 November” Club and of the national team in weightlifting, where he stood out for high results in bringing out new talents and future champions in weightlifting, such as Ymer Pampuri National and Olympic Champion, Bujar Bodinaku and Mirjam Hakani, National Champions and Record Holders. 
He was sentenced by the system of the time with the motivation “Agitation and propaganda” (1976-1982), the year he was released from prison. Then he returned to the circus, making the greatest contribution to the further progress of the circus, in the role of artist and artistic leader. He has been honored with the title Master of Sports, Merited Master of Sports, Honor of Albanian Sports (from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, in 2000), Recognition from the Albanian Olympic Committee, Cups and various medals, appreciative and symbolic, given by sports and artistic spectacles and ceremonies, Weightlifting Sports Honor, year 2010.
Telat Agolli has also been honored with the high titles Meritorious Artist (1969) and People’s Artist (1975), as well as being honored with the Recognition of the City of Tirana by Municipal Council, for high civic and intellectual values, put at the service of the city of Tirana in 2000. He passed away in the USA on October 13, 2016.
