Artan Santo (1956 – 2014)
Lawyer / Banker / Executive Director of “Credins Bank”

He was born in Tirana on September 8, 1956. During the time period 1976 – 1979 he completed the Faculty of Economics, graduating as an accounting economist. Then, from 1981 to 1987, he graduated in law at the Faculty of Political and Legal Sciences. He was known as a very good businessman and in the end as the executive director of the first Albanian bank “Credins Bank”.

His first experience as a leader was at the age of 23. He was appointed chief inspector in the commercial industrial enterprise. In 1984, he worked at the Institute of Economic Studies, in the world economy sector, as a technical-scientific associate and remained in that position for about 5 years. Artan Santo is also known as the leader who turned around the Savings Bank in 1997. From 2009 onwards he was also known as a shareholder in two media groups, first Televizion Scan with mainly economic content and then in 2011, the informative media group of News 24, with the Albanian newspaper, Radio Rash and Balkanweb which from 2011 became the property of the Albanian company Focus Group LLC, founded by Artan Santo and Irfan Hysenbelliu.

But we will stop at the only role played by him in Albanian cinematography. It will be the year 1970, much earlier than his name became famous as a successful businessman, when he was 14 years old, he played the role of Ilir in the beautiful children’s film “The Braves”.

For the role of the mother’s son, the pampered child, who was so weak in gymnastics that he was not even able to pass the horse exercise, but an excellent student in other subjects, he himself would say after many years that exactly that film resembled his life.
