Actor of the Theater “Z. Sako”, Gjirokaster.
A “small” actor of large proportions, in the contest that belongs to that generation of actors who became big even though with episodic roles, creating a prominent career in Theater and Cinematography alongside other names.
Born in Zagoria on October 5, 1931. We can find his beginnings as an actor at a young age, in the 50s, when he became active with the Troupe of the Amateur Group of the Artistic Club of Kuçova, a city where he worked as mechanic in the oil sector. His desire for art will make him, after several years of working as a mechanic, leave the oil job and take the path of professional acting.
In 1956 he contributed to the construction of the Professional “Estrada” of Gjirokastra, being among the first actors of this troupe. Continued this contribution until 1966, where he simultaneously worked as a troupe director.
In 1966, he was appointed director of the “House of Culture” in Saranda. For nine years he will work in this local institution not only as director but also as its actor. In 1975 he returned to Gjirokastër to work at the Professional Theater of this city. In the theater of Gjirokastra, he is remembered for his roles in the plays: “14 years groom”, “The end of the world”, “After death” in the role of Adhamudi, “Anna’s worries”, “Cradle sold” etc.
Undoubtedly one of the names that has written history in the many productions and premieres set on the stage of the “Zihni Sako” Theatre. With a wide range of accomplishments not only as an actor but also as an assistant director, Aristotel Stefani would soon become one of the loudest and most beloved actors for the girokastrites public.
He has participated in 14 feature films, in which his talent is displayed, and his beautiful interpretation stands out. Famous role, which the people remember very well, was in “Tale from the Past”, a role that will remain in everyone’s memory for a long time. Also for the actor, it was a great honor to have collaborated with the biggest names in Albanian directing: Piro Mani, Dhimitër Anagnosti, Viktor Gjika.
In 2014, Aristotel Stefani was awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen” granted by the City Hall. Even today he is remembered as one of the most prestigious figures of the Professional Theater “Zihni Sako”, thanks to his artistic qualities, teamwork, dedication and sacrifice shown in the growth of the performance of artistic life in the city.
He passed away on January 12, 2015 at the age of 84.
