Alida Hisku and her diary….. Then she spent three months in a village in Saranda, where she would do physical work to get by. That's what the Party said at the time. In her production work, she had three girls from Rrësheni, Vlora and Fieri in her room. Here's how she says: "How I remember that day today. It was June 13. It was a year since my mother died, so I remember that day. I tried to put the memories in my diary. So I tried to put every memory of my mother in the diary. I loved my mother very much as she was a mother to the whole neighborhood and to many orphaned children. I want to point out that my sister also kept a diary. This feeling for a diary was cultivated by our mother, so I kept it. In the diary I wrote what my heart felt. What I saw in reality: For example… "Precisely today, on the anniversary of the death of my beloved mother, I am very upset. And life seems hellish to me. Here I am, I eat stone chickens. All the villagers work all day and lead a bad life." The next day the miracle happened. The diary was not under the pillow. They had given it to the professor of the Party School, who took it to the Party Committee. The next day they told me to go directly to Tirana, where I would appear at Party Committee No. 3. There I was met by FB, which told me that you have broken the rules of the party, this journal is open to agitation and propaganda. You must submit the party's tessa. I handed the diary to my father. The punishments began. They also disappeared my songs, the party organization removed me and took me to a ward where the condemned workers were. That's how I started my life from the beginning, but now away from the stage, away from activities, away from people, in a job that I used to do. This is how I worked and lived until democracy came and I left for Germany". It is said that you wrote something that you wanted to do recitals and tour in Albania. How true was that?
These have been my dreams to create a group, a complex. At one time there was a complex of young people who were later dismissed as modern, as capitalists. There was a complex of "Petro Nini Luaras" in the 70s where I sang, but that's all. I didn't realize my dream. To sing and tour in Albania and abroad, to popularize the Albanian song. For the first time when I left Albania from Titograd, I was 16 years old. Even there you could feel the difference with the outside world. I felt sorry when I returned to Albania and I said to myself: What do they have more than us? That at that time we were not allowed to wear our hair longer than our shoulders because it was a modern show. They also chose our clothes. It was the commission where you had to pass like a sheep. Everything was checked on the eye of the needle. Achieving success back then was not like it is today. I sang with handwritten lyrics, because every day they changed the lyrics when they found something they didn't like or didn't like…. Why did you miss the Albanian scene after '90? In the past years Albania took a decadent momentum in music, and I didn't find a place. Every time I came, I couldn't find a place in today's art. It was an art that had no place for me, and that's why I didn't have any invitations. For 20 years since they were not interested in Alida Hisku, I have not seen any interest in me and my music. But this time I see that the interest has awakened. I have had a lot of attention from the media this time with my arrival, I am looking at another spirit that makes me optimistic. – Where do you see Albanian songs today, song festivals, since many songs are forgotten today? There are problems with creativity, because today composers turn to business in music. Composers have an ear for Arab music and an ear for European and American music, they try to steal, but the house is not maintained with borrowed flour. A stolen creativity does not live long. The people are looking for Albanian creativity and we have been like that in our time and the people have supported us. This is the reason that the songs of those years live on today, we were the soles of the people. I feel sorry for the new generation of artists, and I want to give the message that they should make music for fun, not for fashion and career or business. Only when the music is for fun will the originality remain, make the music to please the people, not the sight. I also attended the RTSH festival and there are problems with creativity. Over the years copying in music has hurt us, but we have to value our stuff. – You talked about music, your life, but you brought your biography in the book in German. Why? I don't see Alida as an immigrant who went to Germany, but as an ambassador of the Albanian state. This burdens me with many tasks, but if I am going to bring something to the market for myself, I must bring it to the German. I represent all immigrants, I am not Alida, there I am the ambassador of the Albanian state, and reading it the German reader says: I take my hat off to Albania. This is my duty. I also organize concerts with Germans there, because I bought a house in the forest, it's big and I have a restaurant, I made a scene there, and at the end when I ask the audience did you like the concert or the Albanian food, I say do you want an Albanian song . But is there anything more beautiful than this, it is positive for Albania. Festivals in RTSH turned into true folk festivals. This is for many reasons, but the main one is that these isolated activities brought joy to the life of the Albanian people. The hall, where the festival was held, was not discussed because it was full, but on those nights in the streets of Tirana and throughout Albania, you could not find anyone. Everyone was close to televisions or radios watching the festival. The account requirement was maxed out. There was no friendship to get on stage. Superimposition or play back was not known?! Who had a voice, had a voice, period! He went up on stage. Exaggerations on stage were not forgiven. The scene was sacred. Invited by the organizers of this show directed by Bledar Laçon, Hisku appeared in front of the audience more excited than ever. He relived those years when he sang at Song Festivals and the music that made him unforgettable. Everything happened after the phone call and the invitation made by the composer Ardian Hila, who, in the way he conceived the show, included the singer in his project. Hisku himself sang a rather interesting collage with the other singers participating in the "Songs of the Century", bringing once again the emotions of the seventies, when Alida Hisku made the audience clap for her for a long time. Hisku herself went through this with a very special emotion and convinced that she no longer had anything to do with the scene; this was a dignified comeback. Precisely after this success, she already thinks that within this year she will perform a show with the songs of her repertoire, precisely for the Albanian public.
