Alberto Sordi (1920-2003) Actor, director and singer of Italian cinema, one of its legends, especially in the genre of humor and comedy. Of course, knowing the size of this actor, it is impossible to talk or post everything about Sordi, because not only would it take time but also a separate page. The same thing with the films performed by the Italian legend, is also impossible due to the fact that our site is dedicated more to the Albanian scene, but remembering from time to time the other passion, that of world cinema. Alberto Sordi, of course only one like him will be born in Rome on June 15, 1920, (novelist and novelist, identified as an ardent fan of Rome in Italian football). He was a legend of Italian cinema and even today he is considered a giant of comedy together with Vittorio Gassmann, Nino Manfredi and Aldo Fabrizi form a 4-piece of "Monsters" in this genre. Actor, director, singer, will be born in the most famous neighborhood of Rome "Trastevere" in a neighborhood with other artists, such as Claudio Vilen, etc. He was the 4th son of Pietro, a professor of music, and orchestrator at the Opera Theater in the legendary city of Rome. His mother, Maria Righetti, was also an intellectual, an elementary school teacher. He started in elementary school improvising and playing in a small puppet show for an audience mostly his own age, in addition to singing as a soprano in choir in the "Sistine Chapel" directed by Don Lorenzo Perosi. Later, in his youth, he studied singing and took part in operas as a baritone. In 1936, he recorded an album of fairy tales for children, on behalf of the record label "Fonit". This year it is written in the recitation course of the dramatic academy of Milan. Although he later enters the world of celluloid, he will not forget his musical side. Thus, in 1956, he performed a comedy, the role of a singing student, very spoiled, conceited and, among other things, kept at home by his husband (Aldo Fabrizi). The film originally titled "Mi permette babbo"! directed by Mario Bonnard and accompanied by some well-known operatic songs. Among other things, one year later (1957) he wrote in the mandolin competition, an instrument that he had known since the time of the war and that he had participated in the army orchestra with the title "Compositore melodista". In the cinema, as a 10-year-old, he plays second-rate films, with the exception of the one directed by Mario Matoli in "I tre aquilotti", where he has the opportunity to work with the great actor from Genoa, Gilberto Govi, and the young at that time to the later well-known Walter Chiari. It has been noticed since 1950 with a film directed by Cesare Zavattini, and produced mostly but anonymously by Vttorio De Sica, "Mamma mia che impressione"!! Between 1952 and 1955, Sordi's popularity exploded on the big screen, immediately with two films directed by Federico Fellini, "Lo sceicco bianco (1952)" and "I vitelloni (1953)", then in several others directed by Steno, such as "Un giorno in pretura (1953)", "Un americano a Roma (1954)" "Piccola posta (1955)", in which the type of a boy is built with the quality of being low, profiteer, immature, vagabond, thief, etc. quality which will accompany Sordi's roles in all the films of the late 1950s. A great success comes with a non-protagonist role in the film "I vitelloni". Successes come one after the other even in the following years where the audience falls madly in love with him. A successful film is also "Un americano a Roma". The popularity here takes a strong rise. Other successful films can be mentioned such as "La grande guerra (1959) directed by Mario Monicelli. "Innocenzi di Tutti a casa (1960)", "Il vigile (1960)" by Luigi Zampas, the role of the honest journalist named Silvio Magnozzi in "Una vita difficile (1961)" by Dino Risi, "Il boom (1963) ” by Vittorio De Sica, “ Il medico della mutua (1968)” by Luigi Zampa “Le mutue (1969)” by Luciano Salce, or the film with the long title: “ Riusciranno i nostri eroi a ritrovare l'amico misteriosamente scomparso in Africa ? (1968)" by the director Ettore Scola, then the roles of success in building a famous career continue with the films "Detenuto in attesa di giudizio (1971)" by Nanni Loy (for this film he won in 1972 l'Orso d' Oro of the Festival in Berlin). "Lo scopone scientifico (1972)" to "Un borghese piccolo piccolo (1977)" by Mario Monicelli and a long list…… Cinematography Awards Venice Film Festival * 1995 Golden Lion – Lifetime Achievement Award * 2001: Pietro Bianchi Award Berlin Film Festival * 1972: Silver Bear Best Actor – The Prisoner pending judgment Golden Globe Awards * 1964, Best Actor in a Musical Comedy or – Devil David di Donatello * 1960: Best Actor – The Great War * 1961 Download Actor – Come Home * 1961: Best Actor – London Smoke * 1969: Best Actor – The Mutual Doctor * 1972: Best Actor – Prisoner Awaiting Trial * 1973: Best Actor – * 1977: Best Actor – * 1984 Special Plaque * 1990 – 1994 – 1999: Outstanding Career “David” Silver Ribbon * 1954: Best Actor Supporting – * 1956: Best Actor – The Bachelor * 1960: Best Actor – The Great War * 1977: Best Actor – Honors – Recognition "Knight Grand Cross" Order of Merit of the Italian Republic Gold medals of culture and art.
