Preng Lekunda (1921 – 1968). One of the stars of the Shkodran theater who changed his life before his time, an actor of the pioneer generation of Albanian cinematography. Holds the title "Deserved Artist" Preng Lekunda was a talent. He was born in Mirdite on July 6, 1921. During the partisan ranks, during World War II, he was involved in acting, making it so that immediately after the liberation of the country, he became one of the participants in the establishment of the Army Theater in Tirana, the place where I work until v. 1954. This same year he joined the "Migjeni" Theater in Shkodra. On the stage of this Institution, he successfully plays the role of Vata in the drama "Toka e jone" by K. Jakove, where his imposing manner stood out for characters that show in themselves a vigorous action that releases high psychic energy. This typology of acting was further consolidated, especially with the role of the tyrant in the drama "The Tyrant of Padova" (1957). Preng Lekunda reaches the peak of interpretation, with the realization of the majestic figure of Bajram Curri in the drama "The Old Man of the Mountains" by Zef Zorbe in 1962. His tall and graceful stature, baritone and energetic voice, emotional silences and the power of communication made this role to be valued as an honor among the most accomplished of that time. Although some of the main roles that he played were of the typology of the hero of the dramatic and tragic character, with the visible highlights of the sublime and the great, perhaps he insisted on the truth of the words, behaviors and sensitivities of these characters, giving them a little more reliability. Such a clever use he managed to make in the embodiment of the role of Gjelosh Nikes in the drama "Fisheku ne paje" (1968) by Fadil Krajes, where thanks to the naturalness and simplicity of the dialogue and relationships with others, the actor presented the stoicism and masculine features of the character in the serious dramatic situation he was in, revising and giving a national color to the spiritual virtues of the Albanian man. In addition to dramatic and epic approaches, the actor also played roles of other natures, antagonistic, rude, strict and unkind, conveying energy to the stage action. In particular, this tendency found its fullest form in the role of Gjeta in the drama "Cuca e maleve" (1966), a role for which he was awarded as the "Best Actor" of that theater season, as well as in the role of Doda in the movie "Light Commissioner".
