Albert Xholi
Assistant director and film director at Kinostudio.

Born in Korce on March 1st, 1948. In the period 1968-1972 studied at the High Institute of Arts in Tirana. In Albanian cinematography, started in 1973 in the position of assistant director in a considerable number of feature films: “Looking for the five hours shift” – 1974, “White Roads” – 1974, “The explosion” – 1974, “Beni walks by himself” – 1975, “River lights” – 1975, “My wedding toast” – 1978, “Concert in year `36” – 1978, “Radio station” – 1979, “A night without light” – 1981, “A name among people” – 1983, “The first voyage” – 1984, “Who dies on foot” – 1984, etc.

He also played a role as an actor in the short film “The First Voyage”.

The long work as an assistant to experienced directors helped him to start filming himself. Thus, from 1985 to 1990, Xholi made 5 films, starting with “Hot Autumn of 41” – (co-author, 1985), “Difficult Beginning” – 1986, “My Family” – 1987, “Temporary brilliance” – 1989 and “Life in the hands of another” – 1989.

Two of these films, “Difficult beginnings ” and “Life in the hands of another” turned out to be the most successful and were also awarded special prizes. In 1995, he shot the documentary film “Besnik Sykja”.
Later Albert Xholi works as a film producer.
