Smajl Alia (1945 – 2015)
Actor of the Variety Theater “Migjeni” Shkoder.

He was born on March 1, 1945. After finishing High School of Construction in Tirana, works as a construction technician in many industrial work, from Laçi of Kurbin, to Vau Dejës and Fierzë.

His talent caught the eye from school with a series of successful performances. Afterwards, the comedian would find himself on the juries of national and International Festivals.

In the period 1982-1995, he will be a professional stage actor in Shkodra and has even been decorated by the Presidium of the People’s Assembly of Albania for his interpretative professionalism.

In addition to his amateur and professional acting activism, he never took off the pen from his hand, he also loved writing, being the author of many verses, skits, parodies, satirical poems and lyrics of popular songs.

Hundreds of different, albeit secondary, roles in his career as a comedian, performing together with big names of Shkodra`s humor, it is enough to mention Tano Banushi, Paulin Preka, Zyl Miloti, Gezim Kruja, Zef Deda, Gjosho Vasia, etc., to learned the longevity and importance of an artist with values and the contribution they made to humor and comedy .

He also played in the movie “White streets” in a very episodic role.

Passed away on October 5, 2015 at the age of 70 after a heart attack.
