Andon Pilo
Actor and director of the “Zihni Sako” theater, Gjirokaster!
Born on February 15, 1952. One of the main names of this artistic institution, among the acors who made the history of the “Zihni Sako” theater. Studied at ILA, the High Institute of Arts in the period
1974-1977.
Immediately after graduation, started working in the professional theater of Gjirokastra until he retired in 2017.
A. Pilo was also one of the directors of the theater. The roles played by him are many, as well as those of being on stage in the position of the director.
Pilo also contributed to the artistic life of the city by directing several international festivals, organized by the District and Municipality of Gjirokaster.
During his career, he was evaluated with several praises and in 1986, in the context of the 30th anniversary of Estrada in Gjirokastra, the presidium of the People’s Assembly awarded him the “Naim Frasheri” medal with the motivation: “He was distinguished for his placement on the stage of Estrada with a level good idea-artistic and for the help given in revitalizing cultural activities”.
During his career, there are more than 35 premieres of variety, theater, concerts and various festivals, where he contributed as a director, as well as more than 27 artistic roles in the theater.
Andon Pilo has also made a great contribution to the amateur movement where he has staged several theater and variety show premieres with various companies in the city, while he has also helped in the translation and editing of many foreign theatrical works.
