Vlash Zaka, a poor peasant and an orphan, feeds himself by catching horses in the forest. The brother, who is already a partisan, has killed an Italian spy, so Vlaši is also in trouble. His life is in danger from the merchant of the village of Lami, and from the mayor of the municipality, Ballista Ibrahim Bey, because of a horse. But he finds support among his fellow villagers until he becomes a partisan along with Lena. The film was shot in Divijak of Lushnje.
