Qamil Buxheli (1924 – 2006) was born in Pandalejmon, Konispoli sub-prefecture, on February 8. Since there was still no school in the village, he spent his first and second year of primary school in Markat village, and the other three years in the Saranda district primary school. He received his secondary education at the gymnasium of Gjirokastra, and his higher studies at the "Maxim Gorki" literary institute in Moscow, where he defended his degree with the novel "The King's Horse and Young Knights (1960), which was published on the recommendation of the state commission to the exams. He was a member of the Albanian Communist Youth Organization since its foundation. In April 1943, he became a partisan and was charged with the task of the political commissar of the youth section of the district of Gjirokastra, while in 1944 he was a member of the district committee of the KP of that district. And in v. 1944, he was wounded in an ambush by the Greek servicemen. Participant in the battles of Mezhgoran. Wrote songs dedicated to Asim Zeneli and Ali Demi. After the liberation, in the first years he was engaged in journalism as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Rinia", editor of "Zeri i Populli" and after completing his higher studies, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Ylli". Due to ideological mistakes, in 1973, he was dismissed from this position and transferred to the district of Elbasan, where he worked as a lecturer at the Higher Pedagogical Institute "Aleksander Moisiu" for 11 years in a row. He is allowed to return to Tirana only after he retires. His literary creativity begins with two volumes of travel impressions, "In the People's China" and "The Boat of Twelve", and continues with the novel "The Horse of the King and the Young Knights" (1960); then follow: "One thing happened on the beach", "Humorous stories" (1962); "Detours" drama (1966); "The Commander and the Soldier", novel (1968); "Red Baton" (1969), "Pharaohs and Pharaohs" humorous stories (1969); "Irreplaceable" comedy (1972); "When the whole city laughs" humorous novel (1970); "Career of Mr. Max" satirical novel; "Chameleon in trouble" (1978); "Sunday falls from the fig tree" novel (1979); "Duel" drama (1963); "Abel une e paganini" satire and humor (1984); "Marathon of Death" novel (1983); "Selected parts" (1972); "Dostoevsky, we don't have as many idiots as you want" (1997); "The Bride from Europe (2002). The drama "Detours" was criticized by the high party bodies for demotivating the "socialist man" and bringing a deheroic spirit, with the lack of the required optimism, of solidarity, with the rule of the "negative" tendencies of people, such as self-interest , desire for a more comfortable life away from difficult areas, etc. The same fate befell the drama "The Duel", which shifted the conflict not to the physical and armed confrontation between the warring forces in the Second World War, but to the spiritual confrontation of a partisan with a high-ranking German soldier, who was handed him over as a prisoner of war to a partisan base to judge him. The basic tendency of Q. Buxheli's talent was satire and humor. The comedy "I irreplaceable", in v. 1970, an adaptation of the novel "When the whole town laughs", was banned by the censorship of the time, as it brought the deformed and corrupt reality of the time of the dictatorship, the fictitiousness, the suffocation of the initiative and the breath of freedom. Many of Q. Buxheli's humorous stories have been adapted for the stage and performed in variety theaters, such as: "Do you love me for Beluli", "It happened on the beach", "Faraone and Firaune", "E ema e Zeqos", "Chameleon", "Lum eshte Lana" etc. His novel "Mr. Max's Career was made into a movie with the title "The Historian and the Chameleon" He was honored with the Republic Award and the First Class "Naim Frasheri" Order. He was given the title "Great master of work.
