Ilo Pando (1927-2003) Director of the documentary film "Great Master" He was born in Korce on February 4, 1927 where he attended the French Lyceum. In 1950, he completed a two-year course at the Central Studio of Documentary Films in Moscow. He started working as a director at the Kinostudio "Shqiperia e re" in 1954. The first years he was mainly involved in shooting newsreels, but in parallel he also shot chronicling and documentary films, the number of which, until 1982, exceeded 70. at one time he worked as a director at the Ministry of Defense. Among the main films made by him are: "At the Warsaw festival" – 1955 / "Cerriku" – 1956 / "Pusi 542" which was awarded the Republic Award in 1958 / "Bread" – 1958 / "Kenga e Rozafe" co-authored with the Bulgarian director Juri Arnaudov in 1959 / "Qemal Stafa" – 1964 / "Our Noli" – 1965 / "Our Language" – 1973 / "Our School" – 1975 / "Our Medicinal Flora" – 1976 / "Onufri" – 1977 / "Albanian Painting in the Middle Ages" – 1980 / "Avni Rustemi" – 1981 / "Enrichment of minerals" – 1981 and some others. This creation did not include a number of films with themes from the army as well as some political chronicles that echoed the events of the time.
