Qefsere Trako (1928 – 2012)
Actress of the “AZ Cajupi” Theater – Korce and was active in several Kinostudio and television films.

Born in Mborje, Korce, on April 23, 1928. At the age of 7, she remained an orphan without a mother. Trako completed primary school in her native village, while secondary school in the city of Korce.

Over the years, Qesere Trako proves to have talent and shows features in the field of performing arts. Its formation will be influenced by many veterans of the Korça theater and part of the founding staff Dhimiter Trajçe who activates her in amateur groups and engages her with the first role in the show “Dasma Korçare” in 1947.

A year later, Sokrat Mio, the father of the Albanian director, engaged her in the classical comedy “Copraci” and later in the drama “Island of Peace”, in which the theater troupe received the first prize in the Republic.

A professional theater is created in Korçe. Mrs. Q. Trako, the only Muslim female, is also registered in the competition for actresses, accompanied by another friend, a familiar name, Mrs. Krisanthi Kotmilo.

In 1950, the professional theater of Korçë was approved by the government, (today the theater “Andon Zako Çajupi”) with director Sokrat Mio and director Dhimiter Trajçe.

As for all female actresses, this was a long but difficult road, because going on stage in those years was a challenge. That day, she faced many insults, rumors and threats of the patriarchal era, precisely in order not to appear on stage.

The passion for the stage and the dedication not only does not stop her, but with the will and perseverance, being activated by the directors Sokrat Mio, Piro Mani and Mihal Luarasi, she creates a gallery of roles, where the Albanian audience welcomes and applauds.

In her stage activity, she has been awarded medals, decorations and orders. Thus, at the national theater festival in Tirana, with the drama “Shadows of the Night”, for the role of grandmother Nedret, she was awarded the “Laureate of the Festival” award.

In about 30 years of stage life, Qefsere Trako has performed almost 80 roles in the theater.

In cinematography, she acted in the films:
“Tana” (1958); “Stars of the long nights” (1972); “Alleys that sought the sun” (1975); “The Coping” (1976); “Lady from the city” (1976); “Mesonjetorja” (1979); “With the step of friends” (TV. 1979); “Dawns of the great season” (TV. 1981)…..

In addition to theater and cinematography, she has also contributed to variety shows, puppet theater and operettas of the “House of Culture”.

Qefsere was the wife of the merited actor and artist, Vani Trako, with whom she collaborated a lot on stage.

For the aforementioned merits, the theater management proposed to the City Council of the city of Korçë that she be given the title of honorary citizen, a title which was awarded to her in May 2008.

The actress passed away on May 23, 2012.
