PREMIERE OF “POPULAR THEATER”
77 years ago, exactly like today on this date, April 3, 1948, the premiere performance of the drama with three acts and five tableaus, “Platon Krecet” by the Soviet author Aleksander Korneychuk, was to be given on the stage of the “Popular Theater”.

Platon Krecet is the best surgeon in the city hospital and continues his work for new successes in surgery. Arkadi, the head of the hospital, underestimates this work, Arkadi is a man of big and many words but few works.
Meanwhile, Arkadi is engaged to Lida, a candidate for the Communist Party. Lida graduated from the University of Architecture and made a project plan for the construction of a senatorium. The draft plan was approved by the doctors and the chief engineer, as well as by the Executive Committee.
Only the surgeon Platon Krecet did not approve and in his remarks that he gave to Arkady, he shows the reason. Well, Arkady, in order not to spoil Lida’s shroud, does not tell her these remarks, which would be of great use to him.
The Chairman of the Berest Committee knew nothing about all this and had approved the plan. Well, when we took Plato’s remarks into our hands and studied architectural styles in one night, Plato was very right.
Then he stops the works and deals with the corrections of the plan. Lida, influenced by Arkady, remembers that Plato did it on purpose and a misunderstanding arises. Arkady, who dreamed of the capital thanks to Lida’s work, does his best to increase the quarrels between Lida and Plato. It also benefits from the fact that Lida’s father also dies after a very serious operation performed by Platon.
Well, even Lida now begins to get to know Arkadi’s character better and saw that she would not have a happy life with him. Arkady, on the other hand, had made a report against Plato, saying that mortality is increasing. On the contrary, Plato worked for the good of the society day and night and on days off, but when the sick person had very weak organization, he had nothing to do.
So the fault did not lie with the skill of the surgeon but with the patient’s organism and this was not understood by ordinary people and not even Lida, but only the doctors and the Chairman of the Executive Committee, Berest. He knew everything and had full faith in Plato Krecet.
