Yve Montand Actor, singer! Born on October 3, 1921, he was a French-Italian actor and singer. Montand was born Ivo Livi in Monsummano Terme, Italy to Giuseppina Simoni and Giovanni Livi. His mother Giuseppina was a devout Catholic, while his father was known for his strong communist beliefs. Montand's family left for France in 1923 because of the fascist regime in Italy. Yve grew up in Marseille, where at a young age he worked in his sister's shop as a barber, and then in various ports. Around this time, a career as a singer in lounge music begins. In 1944, it was discovered by Edith Piaf in Paris, who made it part of her artistic activity. Montand continued to be known internationally as a singer and actor, performing in many films. His songs make him well-known, especially those about Paris, make him the man of the moment. He was one of the most popular performers at the famous Bruno Coquatrix hall in Paris "Olimpia Music", traveling with prominent musicians including Didi Duprat. In 1951, Yve married Simone Signoret, and together they starred in several films throughout their career. The marriage was, perfect from all sides, quite harmonious, lasting until her death in 1985, (although Montand had a number of relationships with well-known public figures, especially with Marilyn Monroe, with whom he played in one of her last films, "Let's make love"). During his career, Montand played in a considerable number of American production "Motion Picture" films as well as on Broadway. He was nominated for an "Award" as "Best Actor" in 1980 in the film "I comme Icare" and again in 1984 in the film "Garcon". By 1986, the power and brilliance of his career had waned considerably, yet at the age of 65 he gave one of his most memorable performances, in the two-part film "Jean de Florette", performing with with the other great French cinema Gerard Depardieu, and in the second part in the episode "Manon des Sources", together with Emmanuelle Beart. The film was a worldwide hit and critics raised Montand's profile, especially in the US, where he later made an appearance on the Late Night with David Letterman show. He died of a heart attack on November 9, 1991 while filming the film. that I never managed to finish "L'île aux pachydermes". He was married twice and had a son, Carol Armiel, who was born to him with his second wife in 1988. In France, there was another woman who accused Yve of being the father of her daughter. He was forced to take a DNA test to prove such a thing. The woman continued to insist even after his death, but it was never proven that Yve was the real father of this girl that this anonymous woman claimed.
