Reminder:
December 25 marks the birth of singer, tenor and baritone Kristaq Antoniu (1909 – 1979), People’s Artist.
Originally from Korça, was born in Romania, where he graduated from the Mim dramatic Academy of Bucharest. Antoniu played the first roles in several films, where he became famous. As a concert performer and operetta singer, he toured Europe with a troupe.
Kristaq Antoniu returned to Albania in 1935, where began a lively artistic activity. Excelled in the interpretation of arias from classical operas and folk songs.
The veteran artist passed away on March 17.
